Role Description

This is a full-time, main office role for a Project Planning Engineer based in Jeddah. The role involves planning and scheduling, monitoring project timelines, implementing cost control measures, and ensuring efficient project progression. The Project Planning Engineer will collaborate closely with project teams to deliver solutions aligned with timelines and specifications while overseeing project control processes to ensure optimal efficiency and success.

Planning Engineer – Job Description
Position Summary

The Planning Engineer is responsible for preparing, monitoring, and controlling the projects program to ensure timely delivery of all landscape and irrigation works. The role includes developing detailed schedules, coordinating with project teams, tracking progress, identifying delays, and proposing recovery measures. The Planning Engineer works closely with the Project Manager, Technical Team, Procurement, and Site Management to ensure smooth execution.

Key Responsibilities
1. Project Scheduling & Planning

• Develop the
  baseline program
  using Primavera P6 / MS Project.
• Break down the scope into
  WBS (Work Breakdown Structure)
  aligned with contract requirements.
• Prepare detailed
  activity sequencing, logic links, durations, and milestones
  .
• Integrate procurement, approvals, material deliveries, and subcontractor schedules into the overall plan.

2. Progress Monitoring & Reporting

• Monitor project progress and update the program on a
  weekly and monthly
  basis.
• Prepare
  S-curves, manpower histograms, dashboards, KPIs
  , and variance reports.
• Analyze schedule performance and highlight risks, delays, or opportunities for optimization.
• Support Project Manager in preparing
  weekly/monthly client progress reports
  .

3. Claims, Delays & Mitigation

• Identify potential delays early and recommend
  mitigation and recovery strategies
  .
• Assist in preparing
  EOT (Extension of Time)
  claims with supporting documentation.
• Maintain detailed records of progress, delays, and disruptions.

4. Coordination & Documentation

• Coordinate with
  technical, procurement, commercial, and site execution
  teams.
• Ensure planning inputs are aligned with
  project budget, procurement schedule, and cost control
  .
• Track
  material submittals, approvals, shop drawings
  , and link them to planning milestones.
• Prepare
  look-ahead programs (2-week & 4-week)
  for site teams.

5. Compliance & Project Controls

• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, specifications, and approved methodologies.
• Support project controls by linking schedule to
  cost, resources, and cash flow
  .
• Assist in preparing
  cash flow projections
  and updating actuals vs. planned curves.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in
  Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  .
• Minimum
  3–7 years of experience
  in planning for construction or landscape projects.
• Proficiency in
  Primavera P6
  (mandatory) and MS Project.
• Solid understanding of
  landscape, softscape, irrigation, and civil works
  execution sequences.
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
• Experience in
  EOT claims, resource planning, and project control systems
  .

Reporting Structure
