Job Purpose:

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior OpenShift Engineer responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the (OCP) to ensure high availability, performance, and security of applications running in a containerized environment. This role involves collaboration with development, operations, and infrastructure teams to support deployment, scaling, and troubleshooting of containerized applications.

Additionally, the engineer will manage and support (ODF) for persistent storage provisioning, data resiliency, and disaster recovery. The role will also include overseeing multi-cluster operations using (ACM) to ensure centralized governance, policy management, and application lifecycle across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Furthermore, the engineer will implement and maintain (ACS) practices to provide runtime security, vulnerability management, and compliance enforcement for Kubernetes workloads. In addition to working with Kubernetes on Public Cloud as OKE.

Key Responsibilities:

OpenShift Platform Management:

 Install, configure, and maintain OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) clusters.

 Monitor cluster health, performance, and security, addressing issues proactively.

 Implement and manage OpenShift upgrades and patches.

 Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift and OpenShift Data Foundation (formerly OpenShift Container Storage).

 Strong knowledge of Ceph, Rook, and persistent storage concepts.

 Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).

Containerization and Orchestration:

 Familiarity with Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native applications.

 Support the deployment and management of containerized applications within OpenShift.

 Configure and manage container networking, storage, and security policies.

 Experience working with Kubernetes OKE on Public Cloud

Automation and Scripting:

 Develop and maintain automation scripts for deployment using IAC like Terraform, monitoring, and management tasks.

 Utilize tools like Ansible, Helm, or custom scripts to streamline operations

Security and Compliance:

 Implement security best practices for OpenShift environments, including RBAC, network policies, and vulnerability management.

 Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry standards.

Troubleshooting and Support:

 Provide troubleshooting and resolution support for issues related to OpenShift clusters and containerized applications.

 Collaborate with application developers and other teams to resolve performance and operational issues.

Documentation and Training:

 Create and maintain detailed documentation for OpenShift configurations, procedures, and best practices.

 Provide training and support to team members and end-users as needed.

Performance Optimization:

 Analyze and optimize cluster performance and resource utilization.

 Implement scaling strategies to handle varying loads and ensure high availability.

 Monitoring & Optimization

o Monitor infrastructure performance and implement auto-scaling and self-healing mechanisms.

o Identify and automate repetitive operational tasks to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.

o Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

 Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

 Proven experience (5+ years) with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.

 Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration.

 Familiarity with cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.

 Proficiency in Linux/Unix systems administration.

 Knowledge of Automation Tools such as IAC Terraform and Configuration Management as Ansible.

 Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.).

 Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Groovy.

 Understanding of networking concepts, storage solutions, and security best practices in containerized environments.

Certifications (Required 2 or more ):

 Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration (Ex280).

 Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Data Foundation Exam (EX370)

 Red Hat Certified Specialist in MultiCluster Management Exam (EX480)

 Managing Virtual Machines with Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization (DO316)

 Certified Kubernetes Administration (CKA) or relevant CKAD/CKS Certifications

Soft Skills:

Work Environment:

This role may require occasional travel to client sites and participation in meetings or training sessions. This role may require occasional off-hours support for system maintenance and upgrades. Flexibility in working hours may be necessary to accommodate project deadlines or client needs.
