Analyze current credit data and financial statements of individuals to determine the degree of risk involved in lending money. Prepare reports with this credit information for use in decision-making.

Essential Duties (Major responsibilities of this position):

  • Underwrite applicant credit worthiness, following SHL established credit policy, criteria and procedures.
  • Validate all file application documentation, review property evaluations, title deeds and verify loan origination system data integrity.
  • Work closely with operations and sales staff to provide complete applications for submission to SHL Credit Department.
  • Make credit recommendations and ensure program eligibility and compliance with SHL credit guidelines.
  • Conduct initial review of all loan applications submitted by business channels and submit recommendations to the appropriate credit authority in a concise and timely manner to achieve the twin goals of business growth and high quality of assets.
  • Review, on a continuing basis, the credit analysis function and loan origination software and submit recommendations for credit process improvement in quality.
  • Monitor and ensure the compliance of submitted credit conditions by applicants and business channels as per the procedures and requirements specified by SHL.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of reports (e.g. pipeline updates, credit commitment expiry reports, exceptions, etc.) as required from SHL.
  • Report to management, through the appropriate channels, any/all exceptions/non-compliance and events that could impact on the quality of SHL portfolio and/or profit or loss results.
  • When required, assist or handle the responsibilities of other functionaries in matters relevant to credit risk function.
  • Review credit pipeline reports on daily basis & make sure all existing loans are within the approved turnaround time.
  • Performs and carries out duties as directed by the direct manager.

Minimum Requirements/Experience (What is required to perform the essential duties):

  • Thorough understanding of consumer credit lending and KSA banking principles including SIMAH reporting.. Fluency in Arabic required, English fluency strongly preferred.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers and other company staff to resolve problems.

Education:

University/Diploma graduate in business management required, preferably with added technical or banking background.
