Job Description: QA/QC Engineer (Exterior Envelope)

Location:
Makkah, KSA (Initial Assignment) – Must be willing to relocate for future projects.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly professional
QA/QC Engineer
specializing in complex exterior envelope systems for mega-projects. The role involves rigorous site-based quality management of structural steel and advanced cladding systems.

Note:
Due to the project's location within the holy boundaries of Makkah, this position is open to
Muslim candidates only

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Quality Control & Code Compliance

  • Ensure all works comply with the
    Saudi Building Code (SBC)
    , Project Specifications and general client requirements
  • Manage site inspections for the
    Exterior Envelope
    package:
  • Steel Structures:
    Verify fabrication, site erection, and welding.
  • Cladding (FRP/Aluminum):
    Ensure precision alignment and finish quality.
  • Standing Seam:
    Oversee waterproofing integrity and thermal expansion details.

2. Inspection, Testing & Reporting

  • Execute the
    Inspection and Test Plan (ITP)
    and coordinate with the Consultant for sign-offs.
  • Manage
    Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
    and track corrective actions until closure.
  • Conduct
    Material Incoming Inspections (MIR)
    to ensure site deliveries meet project specifications.

3. Technical Coordination & Document Control

  • Review Method Statements and ensure the site team follows the approved installation sequence.
  • Coordinate field testing (e.g., torque, welding, or water leakage tests).

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education:
    Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering.
  • Experience:
    5–10 years of QA/QC experience on
    large-scale/mega projects
    .
  • Language Skills:
    Professional fluency in
    English
    (written and spoken)
    and Arabic
    preferably
  • Technical Expertise:
    Hands-on experience with steel structures, standing seam, FRP, and aluminum cladding.
  • Location & Mobility:
    Currently able to work in
    Makkah
    and fully willing to relocate to other project locations as needed.
  • Religious Requirement:
    Must be Muslim
    (required for site access within Makkah).

Training & Certifications (Preferred/Plus)

While not mandatory, candidates with proficiency or certification in the following will be given priority:

  • BIM & Design Software:
    Proficiency in
    Revit
    ,
    Navisworks
    , and
    AutoCAD
    to navigate models and verify site dimensions.
  • Management & Document Control:
    Experience using
    Aconex
    for document submittals and tracking (MIR/WIR/RFI/etc) and quality workflows.
  • Quality Standards:
    ISO 9001 Lead/Internal Auditor or specialized welding inspection (AWS/CSWIP).
