Senior Engineer

This is a key role to maximize business intelligence and analytics for Westinghouse. You will be responsible for report design and development, application configuration, patching and support as well as managing updates and security for the Westinghouse PowerBI environment.

This role combines:

• administrative functions include identifying and implementing proper global settings and configurations, in addition to provisioning resources and supporting all aspects of Power BI Desktop, multiple on-premise PowerBI Data Gateways and the Power BI Cloud Service for Westinghouse. 
• reporting functions include requirements gathering, design, development, testing, support and training. They are also responsible for monitoring and general support for the Westinghouse PowerBI platform and supporting all Westinghouse PowerBI users (both Citizen Developers and report viewers). 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adhere to the PowerBI Center of Excellence standards and best practices for report development: gathering requirements, performing development and testing activities, providing training on use of reports and providing support for reports developed and to citizen developers.
• Maintain documentation on all reports: workspace, contact names, source code, last date modified, meeting minutes
• Collaborate with the Analytics team, end users, IT and other functions within Westinghouse to gather requirements, provide support, and adhere to the Westinghouse PowerBI Center of Excellence governance model, cybersecurity polices and other Westinghouse standards.
• Adhere to a defined patching schedule for the on-premise PowerBI Data Gateways.
• Research, test and recommend settings/configurations for PowerBI.
• Provision User and Group access in the PowerBI Cloud Service.
• Intake, analyze, configure, test and implement datasources across multiple systems while following to the Westinghouse PowerBI Center of Excellence governance model, cybersecurity polices and other Westinghouse standards.
• With the guidance of the PowerBI Technical Lead, install, configure, test and implement additional PowerBI Data Gateways while adhering to Westinghouse design standards.
• Adhere to the PowerBI Center of Excellence standards and best practices for managing user and group permissions, workspaces and apps, data sources and data connections.
• Adhere to all Westinghouse cybersecurity best practices and policies to maintain a hardened Power BI environment.
• Maintain standards/best practices documentation for the administration of the Power BI platform.
• Complete support activities to achieve SLA targets of customer satisfaction and cycle time.
• Complete root cause analysis for repetitive issues to prevent future occurrences.
• Adhere to established Project Management Methodologies and documentation standards to complete all projects in assigned application area.
• Responsible for systems monitoring and general support, including monitoring and analyzing system performance.
• Adhere to Westinghouse standards and controls within area of responsibility.

Requirements: 

• Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent.
• 2 - 4 years experience
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Prior experience with PowerBI on-premise Data Gateway
• Prior experience configuring PowerBI with SAP HANA is a plus
• Experience with data modeling and PowerBI dashboard/app development is a plus
• High degree of motivation, flexibility and creativity
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Understands and successfully communicates best practices for optimized PowerBI solutions
• Demonstrated ability to work with other technical resources to troubleshoot software and/or hardware issues/failures.
• Documentation skills and ability to create training and job aide material
• Executes work on time and within budget  
• Provides high quality support within SLA
• Clear communicator

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be 11416 PLN to 14266 PLN per month. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for incentive pay based on company and individual performance.
