Interventional Radiologist – Consultant (Part-Time)

Job Overview:

The Interventional Radiologist Consultant (Part-Time) is responsible for providing specialized, image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in accordance with the highest clinical and safety standards. The role focuses on delivering expert interventional radiology services on an on-call and scheduled basis, supporting clinical departments through minimally invasive procedures, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes. The consultant must be fully available when required and must not be currently registered as a part-time consultant with another healthcare facility.

Key Duties:

• Perform a wide range of interventional radiology procedures using image-guided techniques.
• Provide on-call and scheduled interventional radiology services as per hospital requirements.
• Assess patients pre-procedure and manage post-procedure follow-up and complications.
• Collaborate with surgical, medical, and critical care teams in multidisciplinary case management.
• Ensure full compliance with patient safety, radiation protection, infection control, and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, procedure reports, and imaging records.
• Participate in clinical governance, audits, and accreditation-related activities.
• Contribute to staff education and clinical guidance related to interventional radiology practices.

Requirements:

• Medical Degree with completion of accredited residency and fellowship in Interventional Radiology.
• Board Certification, Valid medical license and eligibility for SCFHS classification as consultant.
• Must be not currently registered as a part-time consultant with another healthcare facility.
• Strong clinical judgment, technical expertise, and communication skills.
