Short-Term Math Teacher

American International School - Riyadh is seeking a High School Math Teacher to provide short-term coverage for a Math position. The period of coverage will be from March - June 2026.
The educator must be able to carry out the following responsibilities: The High School Math Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective math instruction to students, following the established curriculum. The ideal candidate must be able to plan and implement lessons, assess and monitor student progress, provide support for diverse learning needs, maintain a positive classroom environment, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuity of learning during the short-term assignment. Strong communication skills, adaptability, and a commitment to student success are essential.

- demonstrates knowledge of student individual strengths, interests, motivations and abilities and plans coherent instruction in order to challenge and support student learning and well-being
- Maintains effective classroom control, organization and management
- manages student behavior, keeps records of behavior, and monitors progress
- creates a caring, respectful student-centered environment conducive to developmentally appropriate learning
- an engaging presence in the classroom, plans and prepares coherent learning plans with clearly defined outcomes aligned with subject level standards and benchmarks using the Understanding by Design framework
- systematically gathers, analyzes, and utilizes all relevant data to measure and facilitate student academic progress
- clearly communicates learning targets and assessment criteria
- prioritizes instructional strategies aligned with AIS-R's Learning Principles
- assesses student learning with clear criteria that are aligned with learning goals
- collaborates with colleagues, parents and the community members to collectively advance our mission and enhance student learning
- organizes, plans and runs clubs/after school activities as a part of AIS-R's co-curricular program.
- engages in the school's professional development program and professional growth & evaluation process
- partners with families through ongoing communication, conferences and the accurate reporting of student progress honoring divisional reporting timelines/expectations
- honors AIS-R policies and procedures and maintains a high standard of personal conduct.
Compensation and Work Hours: Work Hours: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (5:00pm Tuesdays) Compensation: Follows Long-Term Substitute daily rates at 500 SAR/600 SAR (licensed educator with Master's Degree) and transportation allowance.
