Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mould Operator for our Continuous Casting Machine (CCM) operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for teeming, casting, Tundish preheating, and routine maintenance activities on the CCM floor and Spray chamber.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Tundish Preheating: Fixing slide gate cylinder sensors, shroud fixing/changing, and cleaning.
  • Ladle Nozzle: Opening/lancing and temperature sampling.
  • Slag Box: Cleaning/changing of slag box and emergency slag box.
  • Mould Maintenance: Changing mould body, cleaning mould tube, and oil way cleaning.
  • Dummy Bar: Packing/sealing and oil tank topping up.
  • Casting Monitoring: Monitoring/reporting Tundish level during casting.
  • Stand Preparation: Preparing stands for casting, sanding for Tundish nozzles.
  • Strand Run Out: Cleaning in case of failures.
  • Spray Nozzle: Cleaning/changing during turn round/down day.
  • Shift Operations: Operating stands in shift, starting/restarting as required.
  • Housekeeping: Maintaining cleanliness on the casting floor and intermediate floor.
 
Supervision:
  • Supervised by the Shift Supervisor/Foreman.
Competencies:
  • Experience: 2-5 years experience  a Steel Melt Shop at CCM floor activities.
  • Skills: Efficient and safe operation of CCM, checking metal levels, understanding steel melt shop activities.
  • Safety: Good understanding of safe practices and emergency procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Secondary school/elementary school education.
