Senior BI Engineer "Dashboard Tools Expert"

Power BI Administration:

• Manage and administer the Power BI service, including workspaces, datasets, reports, and dashboards.
• Monitor and optimize Power BI performance, including data refresh schedules and query performance.
• Implement and enforce security policies, including row-level security (RLS) and role-based access control (RBAC).
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Power BI reports, data sources, and gateways.
• Collaborate with business users to design and deploy Power BI solutions that meet organizational needs.
• Stay updated with the latest Power BI features and updates, and implement best practices.

SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) Administration:

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using SSIS.
• Monitor and optimize SSIS package performance and troubleshoot failures.
• Manage SSIS catalog, deployments, and scheduling of packages.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy by implementing data validation and error handling mechanisms.
• Collaborate with database administrators and developers to integrate SSIS with other systems.

SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services) Administration:

• Administer and maintain SSAS instances, including multidimensional and tabular models.
• Optimize SSAS cube performance, including partitioning, aggregations, and processing schedules.
• Implement and manage security roles and permissions within SSAS.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SSAS processing, queries, and connectivity.
• Work with data architects and analysts to design and deploy SSAS solutions.

General Responsibilities:

• Monitor system health, performance, and availability of BI tools and services.
• Perform regular backups, updates, and patches for BI tools and related systems.
• Document processes, configurations, and best practices for BI administration.
• Provide technical support and training to end-users and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between BI tools and business objectives.
• Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies in BI and data analytics.
• Building Analysis Services reporting models
• Migrating Self-Service Reports From Oracle BI and Tableau To Power BI Self-service
• Migrate Reports and Dashboards from oracle BI to Power BI.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in administering and managing Power BI, SSIS, and SSAS.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and BI concepts.
• Experience with SQL Server, including T-SQL scripting and database administration.
• Familiarity with data visualization best practices and tools.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) is a plus.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Power BI administration, including Power BI Service and Power BI Report Server.
• Expertise in SSIS package development, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of SSAS, including cube design, processing, and optimization.
• Experience with data modeling, DAX, and MDX.
• Knowledge of data gateways, dataflows, and Power Query.
• Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation tasks.
