ResponsibilitiesTo ensure compliance with company HSE policies, procedures , international safety standards, and regulatory requirements at the project site. The HSE Engineer will monitor, implement, and improve safety practices to maintain a safe work environment.
- Implement and monitor the company's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and regulations at the site.
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Support the development and implementation of Job Safety Analyses (JSA), Method Statements, and Permit-to-Work systems.
- Ensure that all activities comply with local regulations, project specifications, and client HSE requirements.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and HSE training sessions for workers and subcontractors.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare reports and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with project management, construction teams, and subcontractors to ensure safe execution of work.
- Maintain and update HSE documentation, records, and reports as required.
- Conduct HSE audits and analyze the trends for subcontractors
- Manage the performance of all their team members, irrespective of the structure below them
- Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement of HSE performance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an HSE Engineer in a construction company.
- NEBOSH / IOSH Managing Safely / OHSA Certification
- Knowledge of local safety regulations and international standards (OSH, ISO 45001, ISO
- Strong understanding of construction site activities and associated hazards
- Good communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively on site.
- Strong observation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to train and guide workforce on safety matters.
- Excellent documentation and reporting capabilities.
