• Work under the assigned management structure and report to the Site Superintendent.
• Install, remove, inspect, maintain, repair, and adjust Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE), including flight helmets, flotation devices, survival kits, helmet-mounted devices, aircrew night vision equipment, harnesses, emergency landing and ditching equipment, ocular systems, and other related life support equipment.
• Ensure the availability of adequate workspace, supplies, tools, test equipment, and resources required for the effective operation of ALSE activities.
• Use appropriate test equipment to conduct functional, reliability, and serviceability testing of ALSE.
• Maintain accurate inspection, maintenance, accountability, and issuance records for ALSE assigned to aircrew or installed/prepositioned on aircraft.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on life rafts, life preservers, emergency equipment, and other aviation life support systems.
• Perform fitting, adjustment, inspection, and maintenance of specialized ALSE in accordance with applicable technical standards and procedures.
• Develop, implement, and supervise procedures for inspecting and maintaining ALSE, including personnel parachutes, torso harness assemblies, survival kits, survival vests, flight helmets, oxygen masks, and related equipment.
• Coordinate ALSE activities with maintenance, supply, operations, and other relevant departments to ensure effective utilization of personnel, equipment, and resources.
• Supervise ALSE personnel, assign work activities, and monitor tasks such as inspection, servicing, maintenance, and preparation of life support equipment.
• Provide pre-flight briefings and guidance regarding required life support equipment based on mission requirements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable ALSE policies, regulations, technical publications, safety requirements, and operational directives.
• Establish work priorities and maintain accurate records regarding the status, serviceability, inspection, and maintenance of life support equipment.
• Evaluate the performance of assigned personnel and recommend improvements to ALSE maintenance practices, procedures, and training.
• Conduct structured On-the-Job Training (OJT) as an ALSE Trainer, providing practical instruction on equipment operation, inspection, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting, and safety procedures.
• Monitor trainee performance and progress to support qualification and competency development. The recommended maximum trainer-to-trainee ratio is 1:3. Qualifications, Skills & Experience
• Minimum Diploma in ALSE Maintenance, Mechanical, Electronics, Electromechanical, or a recognized aviation technical training program specializing in Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE), with a minimum duration of two (2) years, or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of five (5) years of proven experience as an ALSE Technician within military or civilian aviation environments.
• Previous experience in providing technical training, mentoring, or On-the-Job Training (OJT) in the ALSE specialty is preferred.
• A documented ALSE OJT logbook or training record is preferred.
• Must hold a recognized ALSE technical course certificate and a Train-the-Trainer or equivalent instructor qualification.
• For non-native English speakers, a minimum English proficiency equivalent to IELTS 5.0 is preferred. English language competency may also be assessed during the interview process.
• Good working knowledge of office automation tools and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
