Role Description The Load Bank Technician and Operator (AC and DC) is a full-time, on-site role based in Dammam, responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring load bank equipment for power system testing. Daily tasks include preparing test setups, connecting AC and DC load banks to generators and UPS systems, and ensuring safe and accurate execution of performance and reliability tests. The role involves recording test data, troubleshooting equipment or connection issues, and communicating results and observations to engineers or project leads. The technician will perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on load banks, cables, and related tools, following company procedures and safety standards. This position also supports commissioning activities at customer sites, coordinates with client teams, and contributes to smooth project delivery and compliance with technical requirements. Qualifications
- Technical skills in electrical systems, including experience with AC and DC power, generators, UPS systems, and basic electrical measurements.
- Hands-on skills in installing, connecting, operating, and monitoring load bank equipment, including cabling, terminations, and test setups.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, single-line diagrams, and test procedures, and to follow commissioning and operation checklists.
- Strong focus on safety, including adherence to electrical safety practices, use of PPE, and compliance with site and company safety protocols.
- Competence in documenting test results, maintaining logs, and reporting issues clearly to supervisors, engineers, and customers.
- Good problem-solving skills to identify and resolve basic equipment faults, connection issues, and test anomalies in the field.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to work with engineers, project managers, and client representatives on-site.
- Ability to work on-site in varying conditions, including flexibility for extended hours or shifts as required by project schedules.
- Relevant technical diploma or vocational qualification in electrical engineering, power systems, or a related field; prior experience in load bank operations, commissioning, or power testing is an advantage.
