Maintenance Technician

MINIMUM SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- Standard 10 / Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Minimum N2 Qualification in Electrical engineering and/or electronics.
- Knowledge of pneumatics will be advantageous.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technical and/or a mechanical environment is required.
- Ability to do fault finding on circuit boards & PLC’s using a multi tester.
- Good knowledge of PLC systems.
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and in written.
- Computer literate MS Office.
- Must be prepared to work overtime / weekends / shifts in accordance with operational requirements.
- Knowledge of Industrial Embroidery machines will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Tajima machines will be advantageous.
- 3 phase electrical knowledge will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of generators and generator control systems will be advantageous.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF KEY PERFORMANCE AREA
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance checks.
- Assist in project work and installations.
- Undertake fault finding exercises of machinery wiring systems regularly.
- Undertake regular mechanical fault finding, modification and repairs on machines.
- Rewire faulty machines, ovens etc.
- Modify and repair control units according to specification.
- Repair pneumatic systems as and when required.
- Assist in other positions and departments in accordance to operational requirements.
- Ensure that all tasks are executed in a safe manner with due regard for Amrod’s policies and procedures, regulations specific to the use of equipment and products and regulations prescribed by the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Report unsafe acts / working conditions / injury on duty to the manager / safety manager immediately.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards.
