Maintenance Technician

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Standard 10 / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • N2 Qualification in Electrical engineering and/or electronics.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics is a plus.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a technical and/or mechanical environment.
  • Proficient in fault finding on circuit boards & PLC's using a multi tester.
  • Strong understanding of PLC systems.
  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Computer literate with MS Office skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime / weekends / shifts as needed.
  • Familiarity with Industrial Embroidery machines is advantageous.
  • Experience with Tajima machines is a bonus.
  • Knowledge of 3 phase electrical systems is beneficial.
  • Understanding of generators and control systems is a positive.
  • Capability to interpret engineering drawings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY

  • Perform routine and ad-hoc maintenance checks.
  • Support project work and installations.
  • Conduct regular fault finding on machinery wiring systems.
  • Execute mechanical fault finding, modifications, and repairs on machines.
  • Handle rewiring of faulty machines and ovens.
  • Modify and repair control units as per requirements.
  • Address pneumatic system repairs as needed.
  • Assist in various departments based on operational needs.
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out safely following company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Promptly report any safety concerns or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization.
