Minimum Requirements:

  • A Master's Degree in Nursing
  • 3 years’ experience as a Nurse Educator
  • 1 years’ experience working in a higher education institution
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a primary health care setting
  • Registration with SANC with a Primary Health Care qualification
  • Additional qualifications, for example, Occupational Health Nursing, Critical care Nursing, Health Services Management would be an advantage
  • Registration with SANC as a General Nurse, Midwife, Nurse Educator,
  • Assessor and Moderator
  • Code 8 driver's license
  • Preference will be given to applicants who are registered for a PhD

 Additional Recommendation

  • Understanding of tertiary institution imperatives g. SAOA NQF and current trends in the SA context
  • Experience in research will be an added advantage
  • Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet use

Summary of Duties

  • Teaching of Primary care Nursing at post graduate level
  • Conduct assessments in Primary Health care settings 
  • Provide training on NIMART/ IMCI / Health assessment
  • Participate in Research Development
  • Be willing to participate in Curriculum Development
  • Engage in community/External Engagement Services including playing an active role in the functioning of professional and discipline related associations
