Ourclient, a highly respected non-profit behavioral healthcareorganization, is searching for a CFO based in Southwest Florida.This position serves as a vital partner and contributor to the restof the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors inproviding keen financial and strategic insights for considerationto enhance organizationalperformance.

The CFO will be responsible forall aspects of financial health for our clientincluding:


Responsibilities:

  • Directsthe preparation, review, and distribution of all financial reports,including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements,budgets, monthly budget variance reports, tax returns, andregulatory agencyreports
  • Consultswith Executive Leadership Team, evaluates current operations oforganization, makes recommendations for improvements, developsplans, and implements necessarychanges
  • Ensuresoperational performance of alldepartments
  • Supportsother Executives and departments with financial and operationalexpertise asrequested
  • Ensuresannual independent financial audits and tax returns are completedwith minimal adjustment to internal financial reporting in a timelyand efficientmanner
  • Calculatesvariances from the budget and reports significant issues tomanagement
  • Providesfinancial analyses as needed, for capital investments, pricingdecisions, and contractnegotiations
  • Servesas a committee member of the Employee RetirementPlan
  • Serveson the Board of Collier Housing Alternatives and HousingAlternatives ofSWFL
  • Workswith Board Treasurer and Investment Chair to oversee allbanking/treasuryfunctions
  • Monitorsthe activities of investmentmanagers
  • Ensuresadequate ongoing operating funds and lines of credit areavailable
  • Collaborateswith the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Director of HumanResources to assist in the evaluation, procurement, and ongoingmonitoring of all employee benefits, including health/dental andretirementplans

SupervisoryDuties:

  • Overseesthe operations of the Accounting, Billing, and CollectionsDepartments, including the review, negotiation, and execution ofthird-party payer contracts, ensures that all bills for servicesand collection practices are compliant with regulatory standardsand payer contracts, and confirms that collections are received inaccordance with payer contracts in a timelymanner
  • Responsiblefor coordinating the annual preparation and ongoing monitoring ofdepartmental financial budgets to ensure organizational goals aremet
  • Workswith Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer to monitoreach department s financial performance to ensure budget variancesare addressed and communicated as needed to Finance Committee oftheBoard
  • Maintainsan effective system of accounting policies, procedures, andinternalcontrols
  • Supervisesthe activities of the Accounting Department to ensure timelinessand accuracyof:
    • Payrollprocessing and payments to organizationalvendors
    • Feesfor services recording plus gifts and otherincome
    • Depositsfor collection of fees forservices
    • Donationsand fund-raisingactivities
    • Reconciliationof accounts, accruals and adjustments, andreporting

ComplianceResponsibilities:
  • Implementsand monitors all systems of internal accountingcontrols
  • Mitigatesthe potential forfraud
  • Ensuressafeguarding ofassets
  • Providesconfidence in the accuracy of financialreporting
  • Ensuressupervisors and staff are educated about and monitored regardingcontractual and regulatory matters that impact dailyoperations
  • Consultswith Executive Leadership Team, Compliance Officer, and ifnecessary, legal counsel to determine best approach to insureaccurate and timely notification to agency or company with fulldisclosure and plan of correction should compliance concernsarise
  • Ensuresall historical financial records are maintained safely andsecurely, with ease of access by authorized personnel along withexternal auditors and outside regulatoryagencies
  • Providesresponsibility for the evaluation and procurement of appropriateproperty and casualty insurance to mitigate the risk ofloss

RequirementsThefollowing qualifications arerequired:
  • BachelorsDegree in Business Administration, Accounting orFinance
  • Staffsupervisoryexperience
  • Experiencein reporting, both verbally and in writing, to internal management,boards, and externalagencies
  • Provennegotiation, analytical, organizational, and interpersonalskills
  • Professionalcommunication style, both verbal andwritten
  • Experiencewith Microsoft Office 365, which includes Teams and VideoConferencing
  • Dedicationto the organizations mission, standards, procedures, andprotocols
  • Compliancewith all trainings andimmunizations
  • Abilityto pass the Level II DCF Mental Health Fingerprinting, DrugScreening, and Local Criminal BackgroundChecks
  • Experiencewith mental healthcare, healthcare, and non-profitindustries
  • Aclear and active Florida Driver sLicense

Thefollowing qualifications are stronglypreferred:
  • Masters Degree orCPA
  • 5+years of experience in a similar CFOrole
