Audit & Assurance External AuditManager

During your tenure as aManager in Audit & Assurance you will demonstrate anddevelop your capabilities in the following areas:

  • Builds trust and credibility by focusing onhow to meet multiple stakeholders needs whilst providingconstructive challenge on engagement issues.
  • Reviews documentation of flows of transactions and testsof relevant controls early in the audit cycle to allow for timelyassessment of the planned audit approach and the entitys controlenvironment.
  • Suggests mitigating testing whencontrols are found to be ineffective without always having toconsult with the senior manager or partner. Applies professionalscepticism to consider the broader impact (e.g. fraud riskscommunication with those charged with governance) on our audit whensignificant controls are found to be ineffective or otherconditions may indicate possible misstatements.
  • Recognizes opportunities to add value extend knowledgeincrease impact and to provide exceptional stakeholder valuethrough drawing expertise from across the firm and integratingspecialists where appropriate as part of the core audit engagementteam.
  • Actively participates in the group riskassessment scoping of work to be performed by component auditors.Prepares and reviews referral instructions on a timely basis thatclearly set up the group auditors expectations and evaluatesresponses from component auditors.
  • Runs filecheck regularly throughout the audit checks all points have beencleared at the end of each audit and chooses an appropriate filestructure for each engagement including groupengagements.
  • Engages early with scheduling andthe extended engagement team. Clearly communicates expectationsregarding responsibilities and deadlines to all members of theengagement team.
  • Communicates the projectplan and any entityrelated dependencies with the entitys managementteam so that they are aware at the beginning of the audit of anyrepercussions (e.g. deadlines fees) due to deviations from thisplan. Reconfirms their understanding with the entitys managementteam in advance of key deadlines.
  • Performsreviews with professional scepticism considering whether theresults of testing sufficiently assess test and objectivelychallenge the appropriateness and reliability of the assumptionsand data used to support managements assertions.
  • Compliance with auditing and accounting standardsrelevant laws and regulations (including specific local laws andregulations) ethical standards independence requirements and theaudit firms quality control procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in public accountingauditing audit management budget business plan business strategypreferably with big 4 Audit Firms.
  • Degree inAccounting or related field.
  • Extensiveknowledge of best practice reporting and International financialreporting standards. Able to ensure that the applicable accountingand auditing standards have been consistently applied and obtainsappropriate evidence to support the assessment that the financialstatements have been prepared in in accordance with the applicablefinancial reporting framework.
  • Ability todevelop ones own knowledge and the knowledge of others as itrelates to Deloittes tools and audit methodology and the applicableprofessional accounting and auditing standards through both formallearning and onthejob training
  • Ability tothoroughly review audit documentation for completeness accuracy andadequacy while ensuring timely archiving of work papers
  • International accounting qualification is required: ACCACPA or SOCPA.
  • Fluent in English (readingspeaking and writing).
  • Preference will begiven only to Bilingual candidates (Arabic/English)
