Job Overview

This position shall be responsible for managing the working capital, liquidity management, short term investment portfolio and banking relationships. Additionally, it shall also be responsible for coordinating with the OpCos regarding treasury activities as per approved investment policy. This position is responsible for financial risk management and insurance coverage activities. 

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Align division goals, processes, and resource allocation with the organizational strategy while maintaining awareness of commercial and business objectives.
  • Ensure the accomplishment of organizational unit objectives by managing staff;
    planning and evaluating organizational unit activities.
  • Define objectives, identifies, and evaluates trends and options, chooses a course of
    action, and evaluates outcomes.
  • Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual
    budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Support with strategic problems resolution and subjective decision making.

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Supervise the entire work done by the team members and making sure it is completed on time without any delay.
  • Lead the team to complete tasks and meet goals through delegation of responsibilities and supervising business operations.
  • Set the vision and motivation of the team in order to achieve the sought objectives
    efficiently.
  • Set appropriate and achievable deadlines.
  • Track and report critical organizational unit performance results and escalate and
    negotiate business related issues to senior management.
  • Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

Functional Responsibilities

  • Develop strategy and plans to manage treasury operations.
  • Develop short- and medium-term cash flow forecasts on periodic basis.
  • Conduct research on the short-terms investments and money market matters.
  • Coordinate with FP&A to get visibility on the planned expenditures and support
    communication with vendors and customers on the possible payments and receipts.
  • Provide input on intra-group lending options available considering the availability of
    funds at the company or its OpCo to optimize the financing cost of the overall group.
  • Review the cash position of the company on daily basis and manage the daily liquidity considering the daily inflow and outflows and report to management.
  • Define cash targets for the company & OpCos and monitor the cash positions against the set targets to ensure achievements of cash targets.
  • Identify the cash surplus at the company & OpCos to create a pool of funds together and invest in short and medium opportunities as per approved investment policy limits.
  • Process outflow of payments for vendors and employees disbursements etc.
  • Manage Letter of credit (LCs) and letter of guarantees (LGs) fulfilling the
    documentational requirements by banks.
  • Manage opening and closing of bank accounts as per the approved DOA.
  • Build and maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions.
  • Conduct periodic / adhoc meetings with banks and financial institution to oversee
    relationship management.
  • Operate banks accounts of the organization and comply with the approved electronic banking policy.
  • Maintain adequate documentation pertaining to KYC, and other documentation as part of Bank Management.
  • Prepare bank accounts reconciliation statements (BRS) on periodic basis.
  • Identify and investigate the unreconciled items in the BRS and pass the adjusting entries to reconcile the balances.
  • Develop funding strategies and execution plans in line with the financial objectives.
  • Assess the proposed investment and the need for obtaining external financing including the financing time period.
  • Coordinate with investment banks, project advisors and project lenders to explore
    available financing options.
  • Review and evaluate available debt options and the respective interest costs after
    coordinating and consulting with the relevant financial institutions.
  • Evaluate the impact of debt financing on the projected financial performance (in
    coordination with FSPM teams).
  • Negotiate debt terms and conditions with banks / institutions.
  • Recommend suitable option for financing the projects to support the investment decision in line with the debt sourcing policy of the company.
  • Complete the documentations and formalities with banks / institutions to source the selected option of debt financing.
  • Coordinate with the representatives of the financial institutions to manage debt
    restructuring.
  • Review the terms and conditions of the debt restructuring agreement to assess its
    alignment with approved funding strategies.
  • Ensure that the company is able to manage and comply with the agreed terms and conditions including debt covenants.
  • Prepare debt amortization schedules (including principal and interest payment profiles).
  • Track and ensure completeness with respect to the movement of principal disbursements and repayments of debt.
  • Comply with the administrative and documentation requirements of debt and financing arrangements.
  • Support OpCos with arranging debt financing and provision of Group guarantees and collateral (as needed) for competitive financing terms.
  • Compare the cost of borrowing with the market average, to identify cost optimization avenues and any debt restructuring needed.
  • Coordinate with the risk management function and understand company's overall risk
    strategy and appetite.
  • Discuss and agree the expectations of CFO Office with respect to hedging of financial risks while developing hedging strategy.
  • Leverage best market practices and renowned risk frameworks while developing the hedging strategy of the organization.
  • Coordinate with internal and external financial consultants managing the hedge fund to update with the latest market developments and hedging strategies.
  • Interact & coordinate with various internal departments, including compliance, finance, operations and trading desk (as needed) on effective management of financial risks.
  • Monitor the financial model and ensure that volatilities, market prices, forward curves, correlations, and other key valuation components are accurately posted in the financial model.
  • Use financial models to analyze the cost benefits analyses for each of the proposed financial hedging transactions.
  • Evaluate the existing and the proposed transactions of the company to identify and prioritize transactions subject to higher financial risk.
    Develop reports highlighting the financial outcomes against the hedging strategies for the senior management for evaluation.
  • Perform stress testing on various portfolios in order to identify and mitigate unwanted exposure.
  • Coordinate with the asset owner to assess the insurance requirements raised in terms of cost and benefits to the company.
  • Develop a list of insurance brokers by assessing the technical & commercial aspects and market feedback.
  • Prepare comparative statements of costs and benefits offered by each insurance brokers to find the most suitable brokers for the company.
  • Review the list of approved insurance brokers periodically to ensure availability of
    updated information for timely and effective decision making.
  • Assess the terms and conditions of the insurance contract to ensure its alignment with the proposed insurance coverage.
  • Negotiate with the insurance brokers and discuss and agree with the brokers economical premiums in line with the cost objectives of the company and OpCos.
  • Coordinate with the asset owner and file for the insurance claim.
  • Resolve queries / disputes on the insurance claim.
  • Regular follow-ups with the insurance broker on the claim status and payments of
    insurance claims.
  • Perform any other adhoc tasks required by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or any other similar field.
  • Above 12 years of experience in related field including 6 years in a leadership role.
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or any other similar field.
  • CPA or other relevant certifications.
