One of our prestigious clients is looking to hire a QA/QC Director, with 12+ years of experience In the Ship building industry who will be responsible for but not limited to:

Job Overview

Oversee and manage the organization's quality control programs in the shipbuilding and
MRO sector. Ensure the integrity and compliance of products, components, and services
through rigorous inspection, testing, and process control.

Strategic 
Responsibilities

  • Align division goals, processes, and resource allocation with the organizational strategy while maintaining awareness of commercial and business objectives.
  • Ensure the accomplishment of organizational unit objectives by managing staff;
    planning and evaluating organizational unit activities.
  • Define objectives, identifies, and evaluates trends and options, chooses a course of
    action, and evaluates outcomes.
  • Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual
    budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Support with strategic problems resolution and subjective decision making.

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Supervise the entire work done by the team members and making sure it is completed on time without any delay.
  • Lead the team to complete tasks and meet goals through delegation of responsibilities and supervising business operations.
  • Set the vision and motivation of the team in order to achieve the sought objectives
    efficiently.
  • Set appropriate and achievable deadlines.
  • Track and report critical organizational unit performance results and escalate and
    negotiate business related issues to senior management.
  • Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

Functional Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Quality Management System (QMS) and coordinate quality control,
    prevention, and improvement activities in the Military Shipyard.
  • Manage certification processes by coordinating activities within Shipyard Organizational Units in line with Top Management guidelines.
  • Verify, distribute, and archive QMS documentation, excluding Shipyards Operating
    Instructions handled by the Methods Organizational Unit.
  • Support Management in organizing Quality and Safety Committees, prepare relevant documents, and ensure proper archiving.
  • Coordinate relationships with Customers/Classification Bodies for quality aspects and satisfaction evaluation.
  • Collaborate with the organizational unit responsible for Military Orders Quality in
    drafting PQCs, especially regarding the Control and Testing Plan.
  • Develop the NDT Plan in collaboration with the Methods Unit and coordinate its
    execution, evaluation, and recording.
  • Promote and participate in periodic meetings with the Methods Unit, workshops, and contracted companies for hull work.
  • Support the concerned organization unit in verifying welders' licenses for contracted hull activities through audits.
  • Plan and execute quality controls, process patrolling, and develop the Annual Plant Audit Program.
  • Conduct targeted audits of suppliers and evaluate their performances in relation to
    quality aspects.
  • Supervise non-conformity management and produce reports to support visualization of quality-related issues.
  • Promote systematic analysis of non-quality events for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Archive calibration certificates of instruments/tools and request checks or tests from external laboratories for deficient components.
  • Promote specific training activities on Quality in collaboration with Human Capital and Capability Building.
  • Collect and archive quality documents accompanying supplies and prepare documentation for Test Memoranda.
  • Ensure the delivery of contractually required documentation to customers accompanying the supply.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Quality Management or any other similar field.
  • Above 12 years of experience in related field including 6 years in a leadership role.
  • Master's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Quality Management or any other similar field.
