The purpose of this role is to manage large consulting projects or large capital projects with the necessary support and coaching from the Precinct / Project Director / designated project leaders.
This project professional will devote their efforts to directing the success of projects through achievement of project objectives and KPI s and be responsible for the management and coordination of engineering, design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, quality, health and safety, finance and administration, and cost and schedule activities of the projects as well as the development of personnel on designated areas of the projects.
Primary responsibilities
Actively promote and demonstrate a strong BeyondZero safety culture in project design and working environment
Lead Safety in Design on building projects and ability to apply and communicate Safety in Design process, risks and resolutions on projects to wider business.
Ability to run a Safety in Design meeting and actively contribute to identify safety hazards and mitigation measures
Ability to conduct Safety investigations, inspections and audits
Ability to identify hazards in the workplace and at the construction site and raise awareness to the appropriate personnel
Ability to demonstrate safety leadership through role modelling a Safety First attitude and behaviours
Maintain and build on existing client relationships, encourage team to work as an integrated team, through an understanding of client needs and effective communication
Support and promote a strong service delivery to internal and external clients
Identify client satisfaction drivers for projects and develop strategies with project teams to achieve them. Identify and address issues that would impact on desired project outcomes
Support Project Managers / Project Director / Precinct Director / District Director /Project Executives managing risk, project delivery, HSE, quality and service
Provide regular progress information to allow accurate reporting of design & project construction progress, take the lead in preparing regular progress reports
Provide technical oversight to the design team and be responsible for completion of Design phase from end of Concept Design
Compliance with all requirements of the design quality system
Manage and undertake technical and interdisciplinary reviews of deliverables where appropriate
Lead and participate in project meetings and coordination and interface resolution with other parties
Responsible for liaising with the Programme permitting team for tracking and managing all relevant permit documentation related to the project
Project manage design and/or construction projects in accordance with client systems and processes
Balance resource requirements to meet project and pipeline expectations, collaborates with Section Leaders, Director/s of Operations and Development Managers
Identify and communicate resource availability / constraints
Participate and promote in resource sharing opportunities across the Programme
Build appropriate relationships with relevant project stakeholders (internal and external)
Support and motivate other team members to achieve best for project outcomes
Provide feedback and coaching to team members and peers on progress within a project and design environment
Support and mentor staff to expand their professional development and enhance project delivery excellence
Provide leadership and direction in delivery of challenging or complex contracting mechanisms
Support Project Leadership in setting goals with project team members to support delivery of programme outcomes where appropriate
Responsible for working with procurement team to identify all services required for project delivery are procured in accordance with the project schedule
Support the Project Director in the procurement process for contractors and consultants for project delivery
Responsible for evaluation of contractor progress, ensuring project performance adherence to schedule, including identification of recovery / performance improvement measures as needed
Lead the management and delivery of the design and construction process, including contractor activities, regular construction and site meetings
Provide support to the Project Director with all contract administration duties
Responsible for identifying, recording and mitigating risks for the project
Work with the commercial team to monitor and achieve project budgets
Lead on preparation of presentations as needed to secure governance and stage gate approvals
Coordinate with the project team, logistics team and contractors to ensure logistic provisions are identified and in place to achieve schedule
Responsible to ensure project team members and self-comply with the client Code of Conduct policy

Desired Candidate Profile
Profile:

Minimum of 10 -15 years of experience in program and project management on large capital building projects
Four-year university degree is required.
A strong capacity in:
Delivery of large-scale, multidisciplinary building / infrastructure projects;
Contract management, commercial management, risk management and dispute resolution;
Proven ability to develop strong relationships and work in an integrated team environment;
Ability to lead and deliver value propositions, commercial understanding, risk management, and resource management.
