Aramco energizes the world economy.

Aramco occupies a unique position in the global energy industry. We are the world's largest producer of hydrocarbons (oil and gas), with the lowest upstream carbon intensity of any major producer.

With our significant investment in technology and infrastructure, we strive to maximize the value of the energy we produce for the world along with a commitment to enhance Aramco's value to society.

Headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and with offices around the world, we combine market discipline with a generations' spanning view of the future, born of our nine decades experience as responsible stewards of the Kingdom's vast hydrocarbon resources. This responsibility has driven us to deliver significant societal and economic benefits to not just the Kingdom, but also to a vast number of communities, economies, and countries that rely on the vital and reliable energy that we supply.

We are one of the most profitable companies in the world, as well as amongst the top five global companies by market capitalization.

Overview

Saudi Aramco is seeking a Technology Deployment Leadto join its Technology Commercialization (TC) function.
The mission of the TC function is to "maximize value realization" from Saudi Aramco technologies through internal and external Intellectual Property (IP) exploitation, to address the company's business and sustainability priorities. The role of the Technology Deployment Lead is to provide and proactively drive pre- and post-deployment commercial support for Saudi Aramco-developed technologies. The incumbent is expected to provide leadership in defining and implementing technology deployment strategies that deliver value: first through deployments in Saudi Aramco Group business operations, and second, where applicable, market adoption of in-house developed technologies and Company-owned IP outside of Aramco or Aramco ventures. Working with key stakeholders, the role defines the deployment decision making framework, taking into consideration relevant commercial risks and uncertainties, to recommend and implement preferred technology deployment strategies that satisfy opportunity value drivers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engages with Saudi Aramco R&D organizations, business and engineering stakeholders to identify, evaluate, develop and support technology deployment programs that offer long-term, global, competitive differentiation for Aramco
  • Identify and build a network of strategic technology engineering partnerships for effective pre-and post-deployment support and to accelerate deployment of maturing R&D projects
  • Build shared understanding of long-term business needs, prioritized deployment scenarios informed by business investment plans, underlying technology challenges, and minimum performance criteria for a fit-for-purpose technology solution
  • Through understanding of technology performance criteria, defines a value hypothesis for a minimum viable product that satisfies defined business needs, and validates market-specific use cases and value propositions for targeted solutions, and support technology business case development and techno-economic evaluation
  • Develops and delivers technology deployment plans for each project, including intellectual property (IP) exploitation opportunities
  • Delivers regular project update briefings to senior management and identifies technical or commercial issues that require treatment or escalation, ensuring effective integrated risk management of technology deployment projects
  • Prepares pre-reading and presentation material for quality decision-making at Corporate Stage-Gate business review panel meetings, including business case, value hypothesis, competitive analysis, strategy options, and risk register

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering discipline
  • An advance degree (MBA/ Finance) is preferable
  • At least 12 years of full-time experience combining any three of research, development, operations, business development, consulting and/or finance experience in either upstream oil and gas operations, midstream, downstream, chemicals, natural gas distribution, energy services, alternative or renewable energy, engineering and technology innovation
  • At least five years of experience in product development, technology marketing and exposure to energy-related and/or software-related technology licensing.
  • Sufficient understanding and expertise across the "Strategy-to-Value" technology lifecycle, including: R&D and IP strategy, engineering, scale-up, project development, economic evaluation, supply chain development, risk evaluation and mitigation, as well as strategy and business development
  • Deep experience of developing business cases for new strategies or products
  • Strong interpersonal, networking, influencing and facilitation skills
