As an
Engineering Lead, **you will Lead and develop a team of multi-discipline engineers and technicians (CAPEX, Mechanical, Automation, Electrical & Instrumentation & Utilities) to enhance their competencies and ensure consistent delivery on plant production target capacity through maximizing plant availability and reliability achieved by embedding GSK Production System (GPS) mindset on continuous improvement with respect to equipment and facilities maintenance processes carried out in accordance to current Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Engineering Practices and in compliance with EHS and other regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the engineering team to manage and facilitate asset criticality study and Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA) for equipments. Set up appropriate maintenance strategy and review effectiveness periodically.
  • Lead the engineering team to manage risk assessment and implement Risk Based Inspection (RBI) Program for site assets. Based on RBI, escalate to functional risk team and propose for timely asset replacement (through CAPEX) / repairs (Strategic spend).
  • Manage preventive / predictive maintenance programs, including breakdown maintenance. Manage work orders in Computerized
  • Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and maintenance process endtoend workflow.
  • Establish and review engineering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive performance and high performance behavior.
  • Manage breakdown issues resolution including engaging external assistance as required. Lead and facilitate multidiscipline team members to carryout root cause analysis and identify effective corrective and preventive measures timely.
  • Lead and manage Risk Assessment (RA) for identification of physical /chemical contamination as well as safety concerns (e.g. zero access) and implement robust mitigation plans.
  • Ensure timely review of engineering practices against Global Engineering Standards (GES) and implement necessary actions to close gaps identified.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities and housekeeping are carried out compliance with engineering standards and procedures. Carry out periodic review of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) / Instruction (INS) to maintain an inspection readiness state at all times.
  • Lead and participate in customer complaint investigation process and ensure that all relevant engineering corrective/preventive actions are completed within the agreed timeline.
  • Ensure sound implementation of plant modifications and other identified plant improvement projects in line with defined specifications budget. Ensure all relevant validations e.g. Installation Qualification (IQ) & Operational Qualification (OQ) are carried out in accordance to approved procedures and standards.
  • Manage and plan the execution of basespend Capital Expense (CAPEX) projects to ensure timely completion on time and within budget.
  • Develop annual Repair and Maintenance (R&M) budget and manage/control cost to meet Operational Expense (OPEX) target.
  • Manage site energy/water conservation program and facilitate implementation of energy/water saving initiatives
  • Manage engineering resources for plant turnaround to ensure the plant is restarted on schedule safely.
  • Coach, mentor, develop, and motivate the engineering team to help them realize their maximum potential and deliver the site objectives with ease and grace.
  • Provide and enforce necessary training and ensure that all engineers and technicians have the appropriate skill / competency for the job. Also develop and train staff in line with Technical Mastery Blueprint and empower staff with high performance behaviors
  • Monitor and enforce compliance (with QMS, EHS, Engineering and other regulatory requirements) to ensure inspection readiness, participation in audits and close out actions to mitigate any compliance risks in a timely manner.
  • Promote and embrace GSK Production System (GPS) to drive Safety, Quality, Supply Performance and Continuous Improvement (CI) projects that lead to overall safety, quality and cost improvement e.g. improve equipment reliability, standardization, etc.
  • Identify the root causes of technical problems and effectively resolve these to ensure process and equipment availability. When necessary, lead and supervise a team of technicians to tackle complex and multidiscipline work to ensure a responsive and effective resolution of problems.
