Danone MENA is looking for an experienced
Controlling Lead for its Specialized Nutrition (SN) Business in
KSA.

This role is responsible for keeping SN Business under control, by establishing strong links with other functions (Supply chain, Sales, Medical & Marketing), building efficient ways of working, processes & tools, and supporting business development ambition (strategic support, business cases, etc.)

Key Accountabilities:

  • Fully responsible for KSA Specialized Nutrition P&L, ensuring reliable actuals and forecasts and providing monthly updates to the management team with all risks and opportunities.
  • Provide relevant insights, and trends but also look into the future to support senior management in making the right decision to drive sustainable, profitable growth across all categories.
  • Budget coordination & control of A&P, Trade Promo, and other Selling costs
  • Follow up on distributor collections and customers' accounts receivables in coordination with the Business services team.
  • Responsible for material cost and CO analysis by SKU
  • Manage PO approvals as well as Trade Promotion commitments.
  • Support in the development of Country budgets from Exfactory volumes to ROP
  • Maintain a strong control environment and support yearend statutory audit, Danone internal audit requirements, and legal reports.
  • Propose new business processes and procedures to drive efficiency.
  • Distributor Management Support: Responsible for managing distributor relationships effectively to ensure smooth operations and be the main point of contact for all financial related topics such as receivables, payables and distribution agreement etc
  • Commercial Team Support and Saudi acceleration: Collaborate closely with the business and commercial team to accelerate market growth in Saudi Arabia. Providing financial insights, guidance on business trends, and identifying opportunities and risks will be crucial in achieving sustainable business growth.
  • Tender Management Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of the tender process in Saudi Arabia and manage tender activities effectively. Support the business leader and commercial team in tender quote submissions and ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • To play a key role in establishing the regional headquarters in Saudi by overseeing all financial matters related to the setup. This includes financial planning, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with local financial regulations.

  • Highly competitive but a big Saudi market.
  • Costly value chain, which requires constant value creation to drive topline and beat down costs, margins.
  • Meticulous and structured while dealing with the distributor.
  • Reliable and consistent Reporting of monthly GPS financials (dashboard, analysis), enabling Top management to take the right business decisions.
  • Support and reply to stakeholders on ad hoc basis.
  • Support Finance Director on specific requests for projects.
  • Identify, drive & track productivity/ value creation initiatives for the current projects.
  • Secure compliance to Internal control (Dango) within the scope.
  • Support ad hoc projects.
  • RHQ, Imports and exports duties, clearance costs etc.
  • Beyond Budget Rolling Forecast increased complexity, reporting frequency & horizon.
  • More sophisticated tools & processes (Power BI, Themis SAP & Essbase) delivering stronger controls & efficiency however requiring stronger coordination, collaboration & anticipation.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Delivering the country financial equation in line or above the annual operating plan.
  • Clear P&L every month showing the forecast, drivers, risks and opportunities quantified.
  • No unexpected over
- or under-spend vs. budget; variances are aligned and approved by regional management.

  • Numbers (reporting, planning, forecasting) are submitted flawlessly and on time.
  • Internal control procedures are followed, and proper authorizations are done or is in place.

  • Main internal relations: The role involves regular interaction between Country Director, Country Business Controllers in other clusters, BS team, but also xfunctional relations to Marketing, Medical, Danone Business services, IT, and HR.
  • Main external relations: This role involves regular interactions with local suppliers, distributors.
About you
To be successful in the role you should ideally have:

Bachelor and Experience:

  • Education: University degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Experience: 8+ years relevant experience; at least 4 years in Business Control
  • English proficiency is a must.

Functional Competencies:

  • Good Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel and PP
  • Good Knowledge of Power BI Stack
  • Affinity for IT; understanding of ERP systems (previous experience in Essbase preferred)
