MEP Systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) Engineer to join our team and oversee electrical, water, telecommunications (fiber) contractors on a large commercial construction site.

Expertise in design, implementation and maintenance of permanent electrical power grid infrastructure is a key competency.

Consultant is anticipated to:

  • Design and analyze electrical systems for permanent power grid integration
  • Collaborate with mechanical and civil engineers on the integration of hydraulic systems with the power grid
  • Conduct performance testing and troubleshooting of electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical and safety codes and standards
  • Knowledge of telecommunications, fiber, and water preferred
Consultant position; anticipated to be on ground in Riyadh, KSA for April 2024 — late December 2024. Past experience working in Saudi Arabia or other GCC countries preferred. Demonstrated experience in MEP Systems on large commercial construction sites is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve accurate design processes goals per assignment, including the completion of design reviews, design for manufacturability, resource capacity concerns and design capabilities
  • Improved design engineering capabilities by consistently following standard design practices, creating a design roadmap for each assignment
  • Achieve improved interdepartmental communication through design strategies and daily workflow.
  • Will be expected to chair meetings with authorities and contractors.
  • Designs systems which meet or exceed client specifications while providing maximum value.
  • Perform optimization and value engineering reviews of both existing and new equipment for improvements in cost and efficiency. This includes the research and specification of components from industry manufacturers for electrical designs. This also includes reuse and modification of existing designs
  • Prepare bills of materials for finished electrical assemblies and assist in the procurement of outside vendor parts and services.
  • Central responsibility in the creation of finished electrical assembly and fabrication drawings, contribution to O&M manuals, and final client submittal packages.
  • Communicates design project priorities, resource requirements and manages adjustments, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and a minimum of 10 work years experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including power systems analysis, transmission, and distribution
  • Working experience with hydraulic systems is a strong plus
  • Past experience in the Middle East, particularly large commercial construction sites.
  • Have excellent interpersonal & communication skills, both verbal & written.
  • Computer skills: Macintosh OS or Window platform using Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel, and Powerpoint. Able to work well remotely as part of a collaborative, team environment with an international team.
  • Fluent in English is required. Bilingual in Arabic preferred, but not essential.
  • Ensure that all work conforms to preestablished specifications & standards. Ensure healthy & safety standards are met.
  • Take initiative, multitask, and work positively in a fastpaced environment.
  • Work with discretion, diplomacy, confidentiality, and tact in highpressure settings. Demonstrate a sense of urgency & act responsively.
