SECURITY / LOGISTICS OFFICER

Specific Responsibilities

  • Facilitates administrative needs such as documentation review, editing, publishing, reporting, threat briefings, gap analysis, and budget reviews.
  • Captures and analyzes security metrics, this role provides input and recommendations regarding staffing requirements, resource allocation, technology planning, maturity initiatives, et cetera.
  • Coordinates monitors and tracks personnel training and certification, conference attendance, and other peoplefocused investments.

  • Meets regularly with leadership, analysts, and engineers to capture requirements and develop solutions to meet the need.
  • Engaged on ongoing cases, tracking them from cradle to grave to ensure they proceed according to the established workflow, followon actions are addressed, and recommendations are made to prevent future issues.
  • Build relationships with vendor partners to ensure desired service is maintained, POCs are coordinated, and feedback mechanisms are established and monitored.
  • Responding to queries from the business in support of their programs and projects.
  • Teach and mentor security apprentices in Security Operations skills.

Skills and Competencies

  • Familiarity with setting a highlevel goal, determining subtasks and prerequisites, then designing and executing an effective plan to satisfy all requirements, completed without extensive guidance
  • Familiarity with coordinating and motivating crossfunctional, interdisciplinary teams while supporting end
- to-end delivery of tactical and strategic solutions

  • Familiarity with analyzing data, then identifying and advocating for key changes or investments which will provide the most effective and efficient advances in operations
  • Familiarity with establishing technical metrics for reporting, with proficiency in pattern recognition and understanding trends
  • Familiarity with daytoday workflow and general operations of a security operations environment
  • Familiarity with handling a variety of personnel needs including timecards, access and software approvals, and change management requests
  • Familiarity with managing a training program including tracking metrics, budgets, certifications, training opportunities, etc.
  • Familiarity with purchasing/procurement process including vendor coordination and negotiation
  • Ability to author/review/edit critical SOC documentation such as reports, plans, playbooks and procedures
  • Ability to translate complex security issues into language that is meaningful for nonsecurity audiences
  • Ability to create and deliver professional presentations for different audiences up to and including executive leadership
  • Ability to coordinate training activities such as cyber ranges, external penetration tests, and tabletop exercises
  • Ability to interface with and describe security concerns to users
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate with internal organizations specifically corporate security
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
Education and Typical Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Security Management, computer security, or a similar discipline.
  • 5+ years in Security Operations is recommended
