Reporting directly to the Country Business Leader, The Business Development Manager ensures the achievement of sales targets of the related portfolio and the vendor/distributors in accordance to the driven strategies.

The BDM will also be helping the business achieve its profitability targets and controlled growth, build relationships with key partners such as KOL's, as well as pro-actively sense the trends in the healthcare environment and position BD's valuable solutions.


Main responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring Regional Sales and profitability in line with monthly and quarterly targets & for the development and implementation of sales strategies determined for the region assigned.
  • Collaborating with the Sales, Marketing & Clinical Mangers and their teams to ensure that the MMS portfolio lifecycle is managed accordingly and accurately.
  • To truly collaborate closely with the sales team and engage with customers, define priorities, targets and closely collaborate to common customers programs targeting higher market penetration to MMS portfolio.
  • Establish the success of MMS portfolio by developing the market, building brand/category awareness, in target customers by interacting with the different stakeholders such as Pharmacists, Nurses, Doctors, Hospital management, C-Suit, Procurement, Quality departments, Distributors and KOL's.
  • Works in harmony with the tender law and principles of BD and works in cooperation with the Law department when deemed necessary.
  • Tracks the performances of distributors who are responsible in the region to reach BD sales targets on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis and manages them together with the sales teams to reach sales targets. Involved in distributor selection and placement processes from beginning to end; distributor detection, evaluation, contract, performance followup, termination.
  • Be a member of the local Leadership team contributing to the accurate forecasting, budgeting and strategic review as well as sales tactics.
  • To segment the market, define preferred targeting, map decision makers to suggest size of the opportunities.
  • Ensures SFDC is regularly used by the sales teams for forecasting and reporting of daily activities.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent is need. Post graduate certificate level qualification or equivalent, in business management would be advantageous.
years sales experience in healthcare, with minimum 2 years of indirect leadership experience and Business Development experience. Direct experience in Medication Management Solutions is a plus.

  • Experience of working with government procurement entities and/or NGO tenders are desirable (NUPCO)
  • Previous experience interacting, communicating and negotiating with Hospitals C-Suite members.
  • Must have a proven successful sales track record, solid negotiation skills, understanding of buyer/decision maker types, exhibit effective selling, listening, and verbal/presentation skills, and ability to assess and respond to customer needs.
  • Proficiency in English & Arabic (spoken and written).
  • Able to work independently and prepared for frequent travel within the region
  • Strong strategist who anticipates trends and competitive activity.
  • Judges and adjusts priorities to achieve personal and team objectives.
  • Demonstrates strong planning and organization skills and ability to implement plans.
  • Demonstrates strong business acumen (including ability to analyze information and make recommendations to management).
  • Strong team collaborator and capable to influence and mobilize other teams and resources.
