GCC Consumables team is seeking a general manager with proven experience in strategy, execution, negotiation, and team development to lead our Beauty business. As the Head of Beauty, you will own the Retail P&L and will be responsible for leading and developing a high performing team, setting strategy to drive profitable growth, creating strong partnerships with selling partners, exploring new and emerging business models, running day-to-day operations, and delivering innovation to improve the customer experience.

The Beauty category is a fast growing and quickly evolving and the leader of this category will play a critical role as a general manager and people leader in building the portfolio and strategy of one of the largest business for Amazon GCC. In this role you will be regularly working with senior management including C-level executives from numerous vendors, partners, and internal teams. This position is responsible for managing and developing a team focused on expanding selection, business growth, building vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and pricing, developing promotions, and monitoring and reacting to industry and competitive trends.

Key job responsibilities

• Managing a full P&L, including planning, forecasting and driving growth for the category, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact the business.

• Execute a strategic business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g., operations, marketing legal, tech).

• Develop and lead a multi-functional team of Vendor Managers and Program Manager

• Lead day-to-day operational aspects of the business, including gathering and addressing customer and vendor feedback, price management, and business improvement initiatives.

• Setting goals and strategic direction for the business, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and vision.

• Representing Amazon when meeting with senior executive teams from top vendors and building long term strategic relationships.

• Generating and implementing big ideas to drive business improvements, innovation, and scale within the category and across the Retail business.

• Leading cross functional collaboration on necessary systems and processes to support business needs, including retail systems, site merchandising and in-stock.

• Innovating and implementing new customer and vendor programs.

• Collaborating on Marketing and Merchandising initiatives.

A day in the life
As a member of the MENA Consumables Director's team, you will partner with peers in setting the business' long range strategic plans. You will possess direct knowledge of all retail functions within the Beauty business (vendor management, marketing, operations and finance) and be capable of representing Beauty business in high level meetings with both internal and external executives. This role will be reporting to the Director of Consumables and will be a key leadership position in our FMCG business. This role will also be a part of our Saudi Retail Leadership team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

This candidate should have experience in people management, negotiations, strategic planning, forecasting, and a background in B2B, B2C or e-commerce businesses. They must be able to work in a highly demanding but collegial environment where teamwork is a must. The right candidate will be visionary, flexible, action and results oriented, and self-starting. They must also be decisive and able to move with speed to implement their own ideas and are not afraid to roll up their sleeves.

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
* Experience leading multi-functional teams and developing people managers
* 10+ years of experience in a core area of business which could include general business management, category management, supply chain management, or something similar
* Experience leading a team in a fast-paced and data-driven environment
* Ability to both lead through a team as well as roll up sleeves and directly own work that delivers results
* Proven problem-solving skills and ability to influence people both internally and externally
* Ability to influence internally and externally
* Arabic language native fluency.

Work Experience in Beauty Category in KSA
* MBA
