JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Catering and Conference departments to uphold company and brand standards. Coordinates event details and menus, ensuring budgeted revenues are met through business solicitation. Monitors financials, asset protection, and staff development to deliver top-notch service.


CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED; 4 years of experience in event management or related field.
OR

  • 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field; 2 years of experience in event management or related area.

Managing Conference and Catering Operations
  • Engages with conference and catering staff, clients, guests, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Ensures compliance with all property departments and relevant laws for events.
  • Controls department expenses to meet or exceed financial targets.
  • Coordinates service staff schedules and maintains equipment and inventories.
  • Handles customer inquiries, maintains sanitation standards, and enforces procedures.

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service
  • Sets a guest relations example and gathers feedback on service and product quality.
  • Addresses guest issues promptly and communicates event details effectively.
  • Fosters employee empowerment and emphasizes continuous service improvement.
  • Focuses on customer and employee satisfaction through quality management.

Supporting and Coordinating with the Sales and Marketing Function
  • Qualifies leads, books events, upsells arrangements, and drives sales.
  • Identifies customer needs and sales opportunities for successful local events.

Conducting Human Resources Activities
  • Coaches employees, provides training, and mentors staff for development.
  • Offers feedback, resolves conflicts, and ensures a productive work environment.
  • Manages hourly employees, adheres to company policies, and promotes diversity.
