Parsons is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer - Procurement to join our team for a large-scale infrastructure construction project. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a proactive approach to managing the procurement process, ensuring that all materials and services required for the project are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with project specifications and timelines.
Responsibilities
- Support in the development and implementation of comprehensive procurement strategies that align with project goals and timelines.
- Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Conduct detailed technical assessments of potential suppliers and materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Monitor and control procurement costs, identify opportunities for cost savings, and manage the budget effectively.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities, including supply chain disruptions and non-compliance with contractual obligations.
- Ensure that all procured materials and services meet the required quality standards and project specifications.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and provide regular reports to senior management on procurement status, issues, and cost management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of procurement experience in large-scale infrastructure construction projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction materials, services, and equipment. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in procurement software and tools or similar systems.
