AlBorg Diagnostics Laboratory Director

AlBorg Diagnostics, a leading provider of diagnostic health services, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Director to lead our laboratory operations. As an integral member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the laboratory, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely diagnostic services. As the Laboratory Director, you will provide strategic direction, develop and implement policies and procedures, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. You will also collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to drive quality initiatives and enhance patient care. Responsibilities:
  1. Develops plans and administers the technical and administrative activities of the lab.
  2. Plans for the effective and efficient scheduling and utilization of personnel resources, equipment and supplies.
  3. Manages the Quality Assurance Program, reviews standards and quality control of technical procedures and monitors records for all quality control and proficiency testing.
  4. Assess the value of new procedures, products and equipment for utilization by the laboratory.
  5. Recommends on the selection of laboratory equipment and supplies.
  6. Keep contact with customers, for all complains and recommendations.
  7. Evaluates the performance of subordinate employees.
  8. Plans, administers and enforces appropriate policies, procedures and practices.
  9. Selection of test methodology appropriate for the clinical use of the test results.
  10. Identifying training needs and assuring that each individual performing tests receives regular in-service training and education appropriate for the type and complexity of the laboratory services performed.
  11. Specify, in writing, the responsibilities and duties of each person, engaged in the performance of the pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic phases of testing.
  12. Maintains a complete record for every employee and Follow the validity of the employee licenses and documents.
  13. Follow the renewal of the branch licenses and the updating of the data for the Labor office, Passport office and Social insurance, by receiving reports from Human Resources Dept.
  14. Ensure that:
    1. The physical plant and environmental conditions of the laboratory are appropriate for the testing performed and provide a safe environment in which employees are protected from physical, chemical, and biological hazards.
    2. The establishment and maintenance of acceptable levels of analytical performance for each test system.
    3. Consultation is available to the laboratory's clients on matters relating to the quality of the test results reported and their interpretation concerning specific patient conditions.
    4. The Lab is adequately prepared for inspections and accreditation surveys.
    5. There is appropriate handling of patient complaints and interacts with patients to address concerns regarding laboratory issues.
    6. Appropriate handling of all staff complaints and takes effective correction action.
Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.
  • Certification as a Laboratory consultant or Senior Registrar by SCHS.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Laboratory Director or in a senior leadership role in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Thorough knowledge of laboratory operations, quality management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to effectively lead and inspire a diverse team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving quality improvement initiatives and achieving operational excellence.
  • Proficiency in laboratory information systems and other relevant technology platforms.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
