SENIOR INFUSION NURSE

ABOUT THE ROLE

Clinical Care


The Senior Infusion Nurse will be responsible for administering various intravenous medications and treatments to patients in an outpatient setting.

We are looking for nurses who are not only accomplished clinically, but also have a passion for bringing a human touch to care.

We offer predictable schedules with no on-call or night shifts, enabling you to have more control of your time.

Our low patient to nurse ratio means you can work at a normal pace, with time to provide proper clinical care and be attentive to patient well-being.


Here are important characteristics of the role:

  • Provide intake including vital signs, medication reconciliation, and health history.
  • Deliver infusions or injections in accordance with prescribed protocols. Monitor patients' vital signs during infusion, ensuring proper medication administration and patient comfort and wellbeing.
  • Adhere to standards of safety and infection control, in the delivery of patient care.
  • Prepare medications by mixing with a diluent solution.
  • Ensure patient care is documented in the Electronic Health Record.
  • Communicate with referring/prescribing providers, such as order clarification, patient status, and plan of care.
  • Respond to medication reactions by following defined procedures.
  • Participate in the design of clinical and patient safety protocols for MOH licensing and daily IVONE operations.
  • Implement clinical practices for patient care that build trust and confidence with patients and referring physicians.
  • Conduct training programs for nurses to ensure competency with delivering infusion, pre and post infusion protocols for care, and follow up with patient, referring physician and other stakeholders.
  • Manage training and skill development pathways that help IVONE nurses achieve certifications and career development that contributes to a competitive advantage in nurse recruitment.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities for the enhancement of care delivery, offering suggestions and assistance towards the continuous quality improvement of patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • RN or BSN degree
  • 5+ years nursing experience in procedure focused clinical roles with substantial experience with infusion care within autoimmune and oncology settings.
  • Current certification or willingness to obtain infusion certification
  • Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) or Vascular Access Board Certified (VA-BC) certification or similar.
  • Strong understanding of various infusion therapies, medications, and their potential interactions.
  • Proficiency in using infusion pumps and related equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient education and collaboration with healthcare providers.
  • A passion for building a culture of exemplary care of patients.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate and organized patient records.
