Summary:

The Healthcare Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients entering a healthcare facility.

They play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the office by providing exceptional customer service, managing administrative tasks, and assisting patients with their healthcare needs.


Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, both in person and on the phone.
  • Schedule appointments according to doctor availability, insurance requirements, and patient needs.
  • Register patients upon arrival, collecting and verifying demographic and insurance information.
  • Manage the reception area, ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
  • Direct patients and visitors to appropriate locations within the facility.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely appointment flow and meeting patient needs.
  • Perform basic clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, and faxing.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality by HIPAA regulations.
  • Update and maintain patient records as needed.
  • Restock office supplies and maintain inventory levels.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant major
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare, in a clinic or hospital
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to build rapport with patients.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and a passion for healthcare (a plus).

Pay:
