We are looking for a Welding Engineer to join our manufacturing hub in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

What You Will Do In Your Role:

  • Develop welding procedures for welding pressure vessels, heat exchangers, flares, boilers, zirconium, and titanium materials. These procedures should be in compliance with applicable codes and standards, such as ASME Section VIII, IX, B31.1, B31.3, AWS D1.1, D1.6, and D17.
  • Review and approve welding procedures developed by other engineers, contractors, or vendors to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
  • Conduct welding qualification tests, such as PQR (Procedure Qualification Record) and WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) qualification, to ensure that welding procedures meet the required quality standards
  • Provide technical guidance to production personnel, welders, and inspectors to ensure that welding tasks are performed according to established procedures and quality standards
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure that weldability and fabrication issues are considered during the design phase
  • Assist with material selection and provide guidance on material compatibility, weldability, and corrosion resistance
  • Conduct failure analysis of welded components to identify root causes of failures and develop corrective actions
  • Participate in ASME audits
  • Responsible for all welder's qualification and ensuring enough welders are available qualified for different process
  • Familiar with cladding and welding of exotic materials
  • Control the cost for filler wires and ensure store of filler wires is environmentally controlled
  • Stay up to date with industry standards and advancements in welding technology to ensure that the organization is using the latest best practices

The Experience You Will Bring:

Requirements:

  • The welding engineer should have a bachelor's degree in welding engineering or a related field, as well as several years of experience in welding and fabrication of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, flares, boilers and skids. Additionally, they should have excellent communication and problemsolving skills, and have a strong understanding of applicable codes and standards.
  • Professional certifications, such as Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) is preferred
  • Experience in ASME codes
  • English Fluency, Professional level
  • Experience in Saudi Aramco Specification
  • ERP systems experience
  • Microsoft office skills
  • Communication skills
  • Must be a team player who is willing to cooperate and consider inputs
  • Ability to read drawings
  • Ability to work in a cross functional organization
