Job Purpose:

The General Manager - Field Production Operations is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of shipbuilding projects, meeting quality and safety standards, optimizing resource utilization, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hull Construction: Oversee and manage hull construction activities, including steel fabrication, welding, and assembly, to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Outfitting: Manage the outfitting process, including installation of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, accommodation areas, and interior fittings.
  • Pre-Blasting & Painting: Supervise the pre-blasting and painting processes, ensuring the proper surface preparation and application of protective coatings on the ship's hull and structures.
  • Machinery Installation: Oversee the installation of machinery and equipment, including propulsion systems, auxiliary systems, and onboard machinery.
  • Commissioning: Manage the commissioning phase of shipbuilding projects, which involves testing, trials, and systems integration to ensure proper functioning and performance of all ship systems.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
  • A master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in Shipbuilding Field Production Management or a similar manufacturing environment.
