The Department of Medicine at our client hospitalin Riyadh, includes the following sections:

  • Critical Care Medicine
  • Endocrinology
  • InfectiousDiseases
  • Internal Medicine
  • Nephrology
  • Pulmonary Medicine

TheDepartment of Medicine dedicates its resources towards providingstate-of-the-art medical care in in-patient, outpatient, andconsultation services. Its commitment extends to medical education for30 residents in fully accredited Residency Training Programs and 16fellows in 8 fellowship programs and to research and diseaseprevention. The department staff has contributions beyond King FaisalSpecialist Hospital and Research Centre through professional groupactivities and national and regional committees. In 2005, 1830 newtertiary care patients were accepted for management in the differentsections.

The Department of Medicine has an extensiveexpertise in all fields of clinical medicine. It has, however,established and focused its efforts on a number of core competencyprograms. The aim is to develop a level of excellence in thesespecialized programs which include Thromboembolic Disorders, AIDSProgram and Thyroid Cancer Program. Other areas of special expertiseare Renal Transplant Program, complex Endoscopic diagnostic,Therapeutic procedures and highly specialized intensive care services.

Prior to offering a permanent (1-2 years) contract, thehospital may invite doctors for a one-month locum. This provides anopportunity to visit the hospital, check out the department, and seeRiyadh and Saudi Arabia. This gives you the time to decide if all yourcritical needs and desires such as geography, income potential,practice style, administrative agendas, and community profile line upwith your long-term goals.
