Cruise Saudi, launched in 2021 and wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund, aims to enhance Saudi Arabia's cruise industry from port development to full-scale operations, striving to position KSA as a top global cruise destination.

Accountabilities

  • The Senior Project Manager is responsible for supporting, tracking, reporting, and maintaining oversight of all project activities to finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budgets. This includes coordinating the efforts of team members, internal and external parties to identify any issues or risks and lead the efforts to ensure these are resolved promptly.
  • The job holder is part of a team that interfaces with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure that Cruise Saudi obtains the best value for each investment within agreed budgets. The position involves interfacing with Senior Management via the Director, Design & Project Delivery in the decision-making process of all projects.
  • The job holder works within the Cruise Saudi policies, standard operating procedures, and objectives as approved by Cruise Saudi Senior Management. Working collaboratively with stakeholders is a critical attribute that facilitates the monitoring of project progress to meet rigorous deadlines.
  • Externally, the jobholder promotes and manages interfaces with professional consultants and contractors within the context of Cruise Saudi policies, standard operating procedures, and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, implement, and update the PMO governance and reporting processes as necessary and ensure full compliance and adherence in all projects following Cruise Saudi's strategy and business priorities.
  • Create and maintain the PMO repository for project data and artifacts, lessons learned, best practices, etc.
  • Manage project development gateways in line with Cruise Saudi's Delegation of Authority (DOA) and assist the cost management team in reporting budgets, commitments, contingencies, and change orders.
  • Draft project-related documentation in alignment with internal processes (e.g., Project Charters, Project Management Plan, Stakeholders Register, Risk Matrix, etc.).
  • Consolidate project schedules for all project stages, including but not limited to design, procurement, construction, permitting, and operations.
  • Review contractors, suppliers, and consultants' submissions, especially project schedules, resources, and overall plans to ensure they are aligned with project requirements and propose strategies and methodologies to track performance measures as necessary.
  • Support design development and project delivery teams to ensure that they achieve their objectives and that the best possible use is made of available staff resources.
  • Maintain regular contact with internal and external stakeholders to update the requirements of each project and the resulting implementation plans.
  • Define, in consultation with the relevant internal stakeholders, the benefits, costs, risks, key result areas, and success criteria for defined projects.
  • Assist and liaise with the design development and project delivery teams on developing the scope of services by identifying scope gaps, and contract requirements, and capturing any potential opportunities for optimization.
  • Provide advisory oversight of construction document control in preparation for the design and construction documents for the project.
  • Monitor and report on project progress in a structured manner, drawing particular attention to deviations from the original project plan.
  • Prepare internal dashboards and Senior Management reports.
  • Assess the impact of any one project on other concurrent projects and recommend the optimum allocation of resources as necessary to achieve the intended results.
  • Assist the cost management team in analyzing cost data to monitor and report on project progress status and budget, as well as other contractor and consultant reports as needed from time to time.
  • Lead the project escalation process to ensure smooth and quick escalation to Senior Management (issues, risks, decision-making).
  • Act as a single source of truth regarding project performance reports, data, documents, etc.
  • Manage communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding project needs and goals.
