We are looking for a Project HSE Supervisor Responsible for developing and maintaining a culture of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality throughout the duration of a project, Responsible for increasing QHSE awareness and compliance across the project using internal and external resources as appropriate.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the documentations and processes prescribed by the QHSE management system are in place, implemented and maintained.
  • Is the focal point for Contractor HSE to approach for guidance and to oversee Contractor QHSE management system implementation and system compliance.
  • Help develop the Project QHSE Plan with the Contractor and Project Manager
  • Identify QHSE training needs across the project and deliver appropriate technical training, as per the QHSE training Matrix.
  • Plan, coordinate and lead the performance of internal audits (at determined intervals) of various processes.
  • Coordinate the corrective & preventive actions taken on nonconformities including potential nonconformities against implemented QHSE management systems and ensure timely actions.
  • Advise on the introduction of safe operational procedures across the project which identify and take account of all relevant hazards.
  • Periodically verify/audit the accuracy of the information and prepare reports of significant trends within the data.
  • Carry out and record regular audit inspections to check compliance with policies and procedures, proposing necessary changes to working practices.
  • Plan practical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial, of promoting health and safety and safe working practices.
  • Establish and conduct specific emergency response drills for all construction staff pertaining to the requirements of the QHSE Project Plan and site requirements, and to prepare action plans for improvement and ensure compliance.
  • Establishment of weekly and monthly HSE operational meetings with all contractors.
  • Custodian of the Project QHSE Risk Register for all construction activities for the length of the project.
  • Provide assistance to Management on Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Ensuring statutory compliance concerning QHSE.
  • Oversee the PermittoWork (PTW) process for all identified high risk activities.
  • Develop a Traffic Management Plan for the movement of heavy/light vehicles in respect of worker movement.
  • Ensure contractor worker welfare have been identified and included in the Project QHSE Plan.
  • Partner with Operations leadership to develop a culture of zero injuries / serious incidents.
  • Lead and optimize QHSE in existing processes with regular onsite inspections; coordinate and support incident investigations; providing recommendations and corrective actions where required.
  • Compiles all fleet related corrective actions and assigns to all departments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Engineering or Science related degree
  • Experience 57 years.
  • Computer proficiency and Good Communications skills
  • NEBOSH International General Certificate, Occupational Health & Safety
