Job Summary:

The chief operating officer (COO) is a senior executive tasked with overseeing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the organization. The COO reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the department day-to-day operations, including those responsibilities described in theprimary duties and responsibilities.
  • Recommends, develops departmental policies and procedures, plans, and budgets to the leadership entity.
  • Ensures department compliance with approved policies and procedure.
  • Ensures department compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provides resources to support and participate in the organization's patient safety, quality improvement and risk management programs and activities.
  • Participates in developing and implementing a process for staff recruitment, staff retention, staff development and continuing education.
  • Provides timely response to any reports from inspecting and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensures an effective and efficient internal and external communication by assuring that processes are in place for communicating department related information throughout the organization in a timely manner.
  • Works collaboratively with other organizational leaders to optimize the flow of patients/clients by implementing strategies to maximize their efficiency.
  • Collaboratively develops with other organizational leaders: organization's & department's mission, vision, values, scope of service and set of code of conduct.
  • Works collaboratively with organizational leaders to establish the company's standing committees and participate significantly in such committees.
  • Follows-up on the implementation of all recommendations identified by departments/committees or others.
  • Collaborates with other organizational leaders in developing strategic plan and operational plan and evaluate it at least annually.
  • Collaborates with other organizational leaders in conducting information that needs assessment.
  • Works with organizational leaders to address both the capital and operating budgets.
  • Works with organizational leaders in establishing organization-wide staffing plan and organizational chart.
  • Collaborates with other organizational leaders in selecting a set of structure, process and outcome indicators based on mission and scope of service.
  • Evaluates department or services and staff's overall performance by conducting annual and probation evaluation for all employees under department or reporting to it.
  • Considers with other organizational leaders a community input during planning process.
  • Addresses all issues related to customer of their departments.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans, organizes, directs and controls staff and activities in collaborative departments to ensure the highest quality of medical care; fosters growth and development of department programs; develops strategies and opportunities to improve services and increase patient/client's volumes.
  • Develops and monitors key performance metrics such as quality outcome measures and internal/external quality indicators in order to maintain departmental quality control and improvement; provides timely feedback to individuals on performance metrics so that quality issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Manages, directs and participates in departmental activities as needed in order to comply with administrative policies, local and external accreditation requirements.
  • Develops and arranges the organization of the department to provide adequate supervision and evaluation of the clinical work, develops and implements policies and procedures to maintain and improve services and programs.
  • Designs and implements business strategies, plans and procedures.
  • Sets comprehensive goals for performance and growth.
  • Establishes policies that promote company culture and vision.
  • Oversees daily operations of the company and work of executives (IT, Marketing, Finance, etc.)
  • Leads employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication.
  • Evaluates performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.
  • Writes and submits reports to the CEO in all matters of importance.
  • Reviews and evaluates the facility management and safety (maintenance, biomed and support services) program plan policy in collaboration with the Quality Improvement & Patient Safety.

COMMITMENT TOWARD HOSPITAL WIDE ADMINISTRATION:

  • Complies with the applicable laws and regulations and Quality Accreditation Standards.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety activities as needed.
  • Participates in managing the risk by reporting any event to improve the safety.
  • Participates in analysis or investigation if needed.

COMMITMENT TOWARD PATIENT'S RIGHTS:

  • Participate in preserving patient rights related to his/her role.

During the absence of the employee, his/her equivalent or immediate supervisor or manager shall take his/her duties and responsibilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Licensure Qualifications:

  • University degree in an appropriate specialty
  • Bachelor's Degree in Medicine
  • Master Degree is preferred

Professional Experience:

  • At least five (5) years' experience in healthcare facilities.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Fluency on oral and written English and Arabic languages
  • Knowledge in current hospital/medical/healthcare laws, regulations and professional standards related to the wide-range of medical specialties.
  • Leadership and communication skills, exceptional ability in financial matters.
  • Typing and word-processing expert.

CONDITION:

This job description is subject for periodic review every three (3) years and may be changed according to the hospital needs at any time during the period of employment, in consultation with the concerned employee.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ریال40, ریال60,000.00 per month
