Position Summary

Currently, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager - Cost Control to join our team in supporting our client in the delivery of a state-of-the-art opera house.

The
Manager - Cost Control is tasked with managing and controlling project costs to ensure financial objectives are met.

This role involves developing and implementing cost control strategies, preparing budget forecasts, monitoring actual spending against budgets, and identifying variances.

The Cost Control Engineer will review and approve the invoices of the Contractor and all the Project Stakeholders.

The Cost Control Manager works closely with all project stakeholders to gather cost data, ensuring accurate financial tracking and reporting.

The Cost Control Manager is responsible for analyzing cost performance, identifying trends that may impact project finances, and recommending actions to mitigate financial risk.

This role reports to the Project Controls Director. Effective communication, strong analytical skills, and expertise in financial project management tools are essential for success in this position.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying, or related field
  • Proven experience (15+ years) in cost control, project controls, or financial management within the construction industry, preferably on largescale architectural projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction cost estimating techniques, cost accounting principles, and project management methodologies.
  • Proficiency in cost management software, such as Procore, Oracle Primavera, or similar tools.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with contractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Certification in project management (PMP), cost engineering (AACE), or related field is a plus.
