Position Overview:


As a Procurement Specialist in the medical sector, your primary responsibility will be to manage the procurement process for medical supplies, equipment, and services required by healthcare facilities.

You will work closely with medical professionals, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of necessary resources to support patient care.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing:

Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish strategic partnerships to ensure a reliable supply chain of medical products and services.

Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and product availability.

Procurement Planning:
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and department heads to determine the procurement needs of the organization. Develop procurement plans, including specifications, quantities, and delivery timelines, based on the requirements of medical departments.

  • Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Bidding: Prepare and issue RFPs, analyze vendor proposals, and facilitate the bidding process. Evaluate bids based on quality, cost, delivery time, and other relevant factors. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to select the most suitable suppliers.

Supplier Relationship Management:

Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring clear communication, resolving any issues or disputes, and monitoring supplier performance.

Conduct periodic supplier evaluations and implement necessary corrective actions.

Contract Management:
Negotiate and draft contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Monitor contract expiration dates, renewal options, and terms and conditions. Coordinate with legal and finance departments to ensure contract compliance and manage any contract-related disputes.

Inventory Management:
Collaborate with inventory control and warehouse teams to ensure optimal stock levels of medical supplies and equipment. Develop inventory management strategies, including forecasting demand, monitoring stock levels, and implementing systems to track inventory movements.

Compliance and Quality Control:
Ensure procurement activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Implement quality control measures to verify the quality and safety of procured medical products. Stay updated on regulatory changes and proactively address any compliance issues.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Utilize procurement software and tools to collect and analyze data related to procurement processes, supplier performance, and cost savings.

Prepare reports and presentations to communicate key metrics, trends, and recommendations to management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management) are advantageous.
  • Previous experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the medical or healthcare sector, with a strong understanding of medical products, equipment, and services.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality control standards applicable to medical procurement.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.

Salary:
