Your new role, what's involved?

The I&C Engineer plays a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems within various industrial settings.

This position involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of control systems to meet project objectives.

System Design: Design, develop, and implement instrumentation and control systems for industrial processes, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.

Hardware and Software Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate instrumentation devices, control valves, sensors, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and other control components based on project requirements.

System Integration: Integrate instrumentation and control systems with existing infrastructure, ensuring seamless communication and interoperability between different subsystems.

Programming and Configuration: Develop PLC programs, HMI (Human-Machine Interface) graphics, and SCADA configurations to facilitate real-time monitoring, data acquisition, and process control.

Testing and Commissioning: Conduct thorough testing, calibration, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems, verifying functionality and performance against predefined specifications.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and control system anomalies, implementing corrective actions to restore system functionality and minimize downtime.

Documentation: Prepare detailed technical documentation, including system design documents, equipment specifications, wiring diagrams, and operation manuals, to facilitate system maintenance and future modifications.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines governing instrumentation and control systems, implementing necessary measures to mitigate risks and hazards.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements within instrumentation and control systems, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to enhance system performance and reliability.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in the design, implementation, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems in industrial environments.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, function block diagram), SCADA software (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition), and control system hardware (e.g., PLCs, RTUs).
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex control system issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations governing instrumentation and control systems (e.g., ISA, ANSI, NFPA).
  • Professional certifications (e.g., ISA Certified Automation Professional, PMP) are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with process safety management principles and practices is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and prioritize tasks in a fastpaced environment.
