This role is for a permanent placement based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Job Summary:

As Senior Operations Manager, Road, your primary responsibility is to oversee and manage the efficient and effective transportation operations on the road.

You will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing the movement of goods, vehicles, and drivers to ensure timely and safe delivery while meeting customer expectations.


Responsibilities:

  • Transportation Management: lead and supervise all aspects of road transportation operations, including route planning, vehicle scheduling, driver management, and fleet optimization. Develop and implement strategies to improve transportation efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer service.
  • Fleet Management: manage and maintain the company's fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are in excellent operational condition. Coordinate with maintenance teams for regular servicing, repairs, and inspections. Monitor fuel efficiency and ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.
  • Driver Management: recruit, train, and supervise a team of drivers. Implement driver performance evaluation programs and provide feedback and coaching to ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and safe driving practices. Foster a positive and productive work environment for drivers.
  • Route Planning and Optimization: develop effective route plans to maximize delivery efficiency while minimizing transportation costs. Utilize route planning software and realtime data to optimize routes, considering factors such as traffic conditions, delivery windows, and load capacities.
  • Performance Analysis and Reporting: monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to transportation operations, such as ontime delivery, driver performance, and fleet utilization. Generate regular reports and provide insights to senior management, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

Partner Management:

collaborate with third-party logistics providers, carriers, and other transportation partners to ensure smooth coordination and execution of transportation services.

Negotiate contracts, evaluate vendor performance, and maintain positive relationships to support business objectives.

  • Compliance and Safety: ensure compliance with transportation regulations, including driver hoursofservice regulations, weight restrictions, and vehicle maintenance requirements. Promote and enforce safety protocols, conduct driver training programs, and monitor adherence to safety standards to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Customer Service: Collaborate with the customer service team to understand customer requirements and ensure the delivery of goods meets their expectations. Address customer concerns or issues related to transportation, providing timely and effective solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred)
  • Extensive experience in transportation management, with a focus on road operations, within the logistics industry
  • Strong knowledge of road transportation regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices
  • Proficiency in using transportation management systems, route planning software, and fleet management tools
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a highperforming team of drivers and operational staff
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities, with a focus on datadriven decisionmaking and continuous improvement
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fastpaced environment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and customers
