System Assurance Manager for Turnkey projects


Alstom is hiring a System Assurance (SA) Manager for Turnkey projects to reinforce the system Turnkey RAMS team based in Saudi Arabia.

Turnkey System Assurance Manager team is in charge of managing global railway projects, called also Turnkey projects.

These projects have the specificities to integrate several subsystems (rolling stock, signaling, platform screen doors, power and track, etc.) to comply with the client requirements in term of planning, cost and quality on a wide range of market railway solutions - mainline, metros and tramways.


Your mission


You will be in charge of System Assurance topics for the project you are appointed to, you will undertake to set up and carry out the System activities under your responsibility.

These Activities include RAMS, Configuration, Requirements, EMC and Security.

You will manage the System Assurance (including RAMS) network of the project to coordinate all project System Assurance activities.


You will perform the analysis according to Railway CENELEC standards and in compliance with the project contractual requirements and Alstom internal processes.


You will manage the SA issues, including Safety with external parties (Customers, National Safety Authorities, Independent Safety Assessors) as defined contractually.

You are also in charge of RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability) activities related to projects.

What are your responsibilities?

You are accountable to:

  • Perform the SA activities compliant with our commitments in terms of Quality, Costs and Delays,
  • Plan and deliver the SA deliverables in a timely manner to achieve the milestones of the project,
  • Ensure the quality of the SA deliverables foster their acceptance by the Customer, Independent parties, and Safety Authorities,
  • Convince customers and other stakeholders (ISA, Safety Authorities ) of the Alstom approach and methodology for RAM and safety management & demonstration.
  • Manage the SA network with the System and subsystems RAMS, Requirements, configuration, EMC managers

You are responsible to:

  • Support the other stakeholders (design, industrial, sourcing, validation etc.) in the definition of appropriate measures to meet the SA actions and to follow their closure through appropriate documented evidence.
  • Be the point of contact for SA matters on the project, with the Customer,
  • Have a proactive approach on the design assessment to support of the definition of suitable technical solutions to put under control the railway safety risks,
  • Having a proactive and challenging view on the overall RAM results from the contributors to enhance the adequacy/consistency of the RAM studies and requirements.

What do you need to qualify for this job?

  • Advanced University Degree in Engineering, RAMS or equivalent.
  • Technical experience: knowledge on railway systems.
  • 17 to 20 years of successful experience in Railway Engineering (Turnkey projects, signaling or rolling stock system) with a minimum of 10 years as a RAM/Safety Manager.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience of international projects.
  • Successful experience in working in a multisite, multicultural joint venture/consortium environment.
  • Internal recognition of expertise.
  • Experience in converting safety strategy into actionable items.
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills,
  • Sense of priorities,
  • Structured and organized with handson approach,
  • Able to work on international and multicultural projects
  • Fluent in English (Arabic and French would be a plus)
  • You are opened for some occasional international travels, shortterm missions.
