Description of Business Analyst position

Investec Sandton is seeking a skilled professional to join their Compliance Technology team in the role of a business analyst. The responsibilities will include handling various project tasks, addressing user issues and requests, as well as offering maintenance and support for systems and interfaces.

The ideal candidate should be autonomous and able to foster relationships with key stakeholders, subject matter experts, project managers, and team members. They will be instrumental in driving solutions that not only meet but surpass expectations while aligning with the company's goals and strategies.

Experience, skills, and capabilities required

  • Pioneering and critical thinking are essential for resolving intricate issues amidst the involvement of multiple systems, clients, and technologies.
  • Conduct thorough impact analyses for all changes affecting existing business and technical processes, data, and integration.
  • Engage in the complete SDLC based on the project scope, including post-implementation tasks. This involves drafting relevant documents and presenting at different forums and checkpoints.
  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of processes, business rules, data requirements, project administration, etc., in alignment with the delivery strategy.
  • Ensure successful delivery of projects/SMIs meeting business needs and supported by a solid business case.
  • Provide regular progress updates and encourage knowledge sharing among the team and stakeholders.
  • Effectively manage priorities in collaboration with stakeholders.

Key experience required for this role:

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience as a business analyst in an IT software development team.
  • Practical experience with cloud solutions and SaaS would be advantageous.
  • A forward-thinking approach focused on risk identification, mitigation, and issue resolution.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and SAFe would be beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ownership, ability to navigate ambiguity, and contribute across functional and technical domains.
  • Strong leadership, communication, planning, and facilitation skills.
  • Critical thinking, solution-oriented mindset, and robust technical background.
  • At least 2 years of SQL scripting experience.
  • Proficiency in reading logs.
  • Strong coordination and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse teams.
