Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth environmental assessments, analyzing associated risks, and ensuring projects adhere to both local and international environmental standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and analyze environmental risks for various projects, developing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and implement robust environmental management plans (EMPs) and continuous monitoring programs to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Provide expert technical advice on environmental matters, offering guidance to both technical and administrative teams on addressing environmental challenges.
  • Lead field studies and environmental remediation activities, managing the cleanup and rehabilitation of impacted sites.
  • Design and implement waste management strategies, ensuring safe disposal methods in compliance with regulatory frameworks.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and other documentation to present findings from environmental studies to clients, regulatory bodies, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of changes in environmental legislation and best practices, ensuring that projects align with the most current environmental standards.
  • Conduct studies to assess the potential environmental impacts of projects, providing actionable recommendations to minimize harm.
  • Actively participate in environmental rehabilitation initiatives, implementing corrective actions and improvements for impacted sites.
  • Promote environmental awareness by organizing educational workshops and campaigns for communities.
  • Facilitate the acquisition of environmental permits from relevant governmental authorities and ensure full compliance with required environmental conditions.
  • Address environmental concerns and collaborate with stakeholders to implement effective solutions to mitigate negative impacts.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, attend project meetings, and ensure precise and efficient execution of environmental procedures.
  • Prepare technical and financial proposals for environmental projects, providing consulting services to ensure projects meet environmental standards and specifications.
  • Contribute to the preparation of studies that assess environmental impact, reviewing project environmental records to ensure full compliance.
  • Review environmental studies and management plans, developing strategies for the closure and rehabilitation of contaminated sites.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in environmental engineering, with a strong track record in environmental impact assessments, risk analysis, and environmental management.
  • Proficiency in both Arabic and English languages.
  • In-depth knowledge of local and international environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage and conduct field studies and lead environmental remediation projects.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with an ability to provide clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Proficiency in preparing technical reports, presentations, and other forms of environmental documentation.
  • Experience working with governmental agencies, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure project compliance.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively and simultaneously.

Professional Certifications:

  • Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or equivalent environmental certifications.
  • ISO 14001 Lead Auditor or similar environmental management certification.
  • LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accreditation.
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or similar certifications related to waste management and hazardous materials.
  • Additional relevant certifications in environmental engineering or sustainability practices are an asset.
