Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide health and safety measures in a working environment.
  2. Support staff with the identification of environmental aspects and determining the project objectives and targets.
  3. Identify and evaluate the unsafe environment and practices.
  4. Identify the root causes of safety and industrial hygiene.
  5. Develop hazard control processes, methods, and programs.
  6. Recommend solutions to issues that need improvement.
  7. Advise several ways of controlling potential threats.
  8. Monitor implementation of safety plans per plans and objectives.
  9. Track safety systems using computer systems and spreadsheets.
  10. Maintain and manage equipment and processes related to each project of health and safety.
  11. Suggest preventive methods and practices like recycling, waste disposal, pollution control, etc.
  12. Collaborate with other levels of engineering staff, quality assurance, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance specialists.
  13. Measure and audit the effectiveness of hazard control programs.
  14. Prepare future safety plans based on past experiences and facts.
  15. Work in compliance with ISO 14000/14001 standards and practices.

Authorities:

  1. Approve work PTW for any area in the facility.
  2. Stop the work of internal or external jobs in case of safety requirements being compromised.
  3. Stop any work of internal or external jobs that can impact environmental aspects in any location of the facility.
  4. Receive and respond to any governmental query or request within the organization.
  5. Apply for and obtain Modon permit as required.
  6. Contact governmental authorities (civil defense, medical ambulance) in case of emergency situations.
  7. Access all CCTV systems across the facility.
