The Demi Chef De Partie will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of a specific kitchen section, ensuring food preparation and presentation meet the highest standards. This role supports the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef, gaining experience in managing food preparation, maintaining quality, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. This role plays a key role in supporting the team, managing kitchen duties, and contributing to a successful service at Golf Saudi.

Responsibilities:

  • Organizes together with the Chef de Partie the shift on his/her section with regards to mise-en-place production and its service.
  • Takes instructions from his/her Chef de Partie and carries them out in the correct manner.
  • Together with his/her Chef de Partie writes daily dry store, food requisitions and kitchen transfers on the appropriate forms for the approval of the Executive Sous Chef & Chef de Cuisine in order to achieve the high stock rotation desired in the section.
  • Maintains good employee relations and motivates colleagues.
  • Takes on full responsibility during the absence of the Chef De Partie and ensures that all set and agreed standards are adhered to.
  • Works to the specifications received by the Chef de Partie regarding portion size, quantity and quality as laid down in the recipe index.
  • Is responsible for completing the daily checklist regarding mise-en-place and food storage.
  • Attends daily and monthly meetings with the Chef de cuisine and other meetings as requested by the Executive Chef / Executive Sous Chef and /or Chef de Cuisine.
  • Reports any problems regarding failure of machinery and small equipment to the Chef de cuisine and follows up to ensure the necessary work has been carried out.
  • Checks the main information board regarding changes in any Banquets or other information related to the organization.
  • Keeps the section clean and tidy.
  • Passes all information to the next shift about functions and mise-en-place.
  • Makes sure night is covered.
  • Writes accidents and sickness in the logbook and reports to the Executive Sous Chef & Chef de Cuisine.
  • Checks Commis Chefs on his/her section regarding personal hygiene.
  • Has a complete understanding of, and adheres to the company's policy relating to fire, hygiene and food safety.
  • The manager is authorized to assign the employee to any task within the department.

Qualifications:

  • Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Basic food cost awareness.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as Commis 1.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Basic computer skills are a plus.
  • Reliable.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Basic Food and Hygiene training certification.
  • Ability to communicate in English, strong communication skills, verbal, listening and writing.
  • Good team player.
  • Innovative and proactive.
