Job Brief:

Wahed is seeking an experienced and driven GCC Head to spearhead the expansion and growth of our operations across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a proven track record of establishing and scaling businesses in new markets. As the Senior Executive Officer for the GCC region, this role will have responsibility for Wahed's success and growth across all GCC markets. This role involves developing and executing regional strategies, building high-performing teams, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, partners, and customers. The GCC Head will play a crucial role in building Wahed's presence and functionality from the ground up in the region, ensuring alignment with our mission and values. This role reports directly to the Group CEO and Central Team, driving communication and strategic alignment across the GCC.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive GCC-wide strategic plan that aligns with Wahed's overall objectives.
  2. Lead the expansion of Wahed's operations into new GCC markets, establishing a strong presence and building brand awareness.
  3. Drive growth by increasing market share, expanding the customer base, and identifying new revenue streams across the GCC region.
  4. Oversee and manage Wahed's operations across the GCC region, including frequent travel to Qatar, UAE, and Saudi Arabia, to ensure effective leadership and coordination.
  5. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, partners, and industry experts in each GCC country.
  6. Oversee the launch of new products and features, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation across the region.
  7. Analyze market trends and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in the GCC.
  8. Build and manage high-performing teams across multiple departments and GCC countries, providing leadership, guidance, and support to achieve business goals.
  9. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies across all GCC markets.
  10. Provide regular reports to the C-suite on the performance of the GCC operations, including financial metrics, customer acquisition, and product usage.
Job Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field; MBA or another advanced degree preferred.
  2. Demonstrable experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on fintech, investment management, or a related field.
  3. Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling operations in new and existing markets, ideally within the GCC region.
  4. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple initiatives simultaneously across different countries.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  6. Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing teams across multiple functions and geographies.
  7. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  8. Understanding of local regulatory requirements and market dynamics in the financial services industry across the GCC.
  9. Experience working and leading a diverse team of professionals.
  10. Must be a GCC National.
  11. This position is will be based in Riyadh, KSA or Doha, Qatar.
