Safety Coordinator, Workplace Health and Safety

Amazon is looking for a Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator to add to the team. Year-on-year, as we continue to grow, we need to work as smart as we can, to keep all our team members safe, fulfilled, motivated, and empowered. To help us achieve this, we're seeking a driven EHS Officer. With your Bias for Action, we'll need you to step in and help drive health and safety across our fulfillment center in East Cairo.

In this crucial WHS position, you'll report to the WHS Manager.

1. Lead site risk assessment for current and new activities.
2. Lead implementation of site specific WHS standards and guidelines.
3. Lead implementation of site WHS objectives and programs.
4. Promote safe culture among employees by providing daily WHS content to shift briefings.
5. Perform frequent site safety audits to identify all non-compliance equipment and/or processes at the site. Work with the Operations team to implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury.
6. Attend to incidents and occupational injury cases on-site.
7. Guide and assist area managers on incident investigations, write-ups, and communication of lessons learned.
8. Assist Ops team in follow-up sheets and CAPA creation. Audit record-keeping practices and ensure entries align with global WHS standards and local regulations.
9. Ensure the PPE inventory at site and coordinate with procurement for order placement.
10. Monitor and support Area Organisation (AO) weekly assignments.
11. Conduct daily Powered Industrial Tool and Trailer Dock Release inspections and communications.
12. Monitor and support Daily Action Tracking System.
13. Participate in site management safety walks, providing insight into unsafe acts and conditions to management.
14. Provide daily updates to WHS Manager on objectives progress, incidents, AO ATS, network actions, etc.
15. Prepare WHS committee meeting agenda, MOM write-up, and ATS creation.
16. Review and sign off on Daily Permit to Work.
17. Lead on WHS related procurement and follow up.
18. Prepare emergency response plans.
19. Manage and conduct emergency drills.
20. Prepare records for emergency drills.
21. Establish, monitor, and support Heat Index.
22. Provide support to site-specific requests, unplanned events, and activities.
23. Conduct daily and weekly WHS audits, such as hazard waste room inspection, spill kit inspection, first aid room, etc.

1. Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or Engineering/Science bachelor degree.
2. Attested basic and advanced safety specialist certification from NIOSH EGY.
3. +2 years of experience in OSH field.
4. Good communicator – English.
5. NEBOSH and OSHA certifications are an advantage.

2. Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
3. Experience leading and managing a team.
4. Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct job hazard and job safety analyses.
5. Experience in emergency response and currently holds First Aid and CPR certificates.
6. Experience in Worker's Compensation case management.
7. Ability to analyze and manipulate data.
8. Passion for safety.
