As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in overseeing the company's financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position involves managing core accounting functions, preparing financial reports, and supporting cross-functional teams with financial procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of IFRS, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with other departments.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations and Reporting:

  1. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  2. Manage general ledger functions, ensuring accurate recording, classifying, and summarizing of financial transactions.
  3. Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations, accruals, and provisions.

Accounts Payable and Receivable Management:

  1. Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
  2. Manage customer accounts, including invoicing, collections, and addressing discrepancies.
  3. Maintain an updated listing of accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Tax and Compliance:

  1. Oversee compliance with tax regulations, such as GST, TDS, or other applicable taxes.
  2. Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely submission of required documentation.
  3. Ensure transactions align with financial policies and procedures.

Vendor and Employee Expense Management:

  1. Maintain vendor records, negotiate payment terms, and secure applicable discounts.
  2. Verify and process employee reimbursements and travel-related expenses, including travel advances and settlements.

Process Improvement and Systems Development:

  1. Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
  2. Manage the setup and maintenance of customers and vendors in ERP systems.
  3. Develop internal controls to safeguard financial data and enhance reporting standards.

Cross-functional Support:

  1. Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and ensure alignment with company objectives.
  2. Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses to support strategic decision-making.

Customer and Stakeholder Satisfaction:

  1. Ensure courteous and timely responses to internal and external inquiries.
  2. Promote adherence to company policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
Minimum Requirements
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA, CMA, or equivalent is a plus).
  2. Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, with a preference for candidates with prior experience in logistics or shipping companies like Aramex or Amazon.
  3. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP or Odoo).
  4. Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
  5. Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
  7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
